Has the forum knife been based on our suggestions/requests in the past? I would very much like it to be, but I don't think that's been the case. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
I think the joke is that there aren't any 2 people in this forum who can agree on the same model and features.

For a 2022 forum knife they would have had to start planning and production in probably 2019.
At least one has been done quicker. I remember a thread by Sal where he and Eric had discussed a forum knife and it was available in a relatively short time, but still likely longer than the 5 months left in 2022. There's always 2023.

UKPK drop point is one of my all time favorites, Magnacut would be such an amazing one! Color does not really matter to me but don't like purple or brown much

I am so ready for this and I hope the world is, too. Even beyond as a forum knife, I think it belongs in the regular line up.

I think Sal’s proposal is quite good.
The UKPK is relevant to a lot of the users on this forum.
It appears to be a great design that is easily overlooked by users not being legally restricted to non locking folders (I sure am guilty of this).
There’s a lot of requests for magnacut, and I’m as intrigued as anyone, but I believe magnacut will trickle down to a lot of models eventually. A Spy27 version is probably going to be more special and a less common variation given some time.

I don’t yet own a UKPK or anything in spy27, so it might be the selfish me speaking, but I don’t think so. As I’m not in a hurry to get a UKPK, I was going to wait and see if the Salt version eventually went to Magnacut, like the Native (and rumored Manix).
I probably have enough Salts already to last me several lifetimes, so I’d be willing to give up a bit of stainlessnes in the UKPK to try spy27.
Drop point or leaf shape doesn’t really matter to me.

I have the UKPK serrated Salt and it is pretty dang handy. In PE, I would prefer a drop point. A little more edge retention like in MagnaCut would be most welcome. :winking-tongue

A blue leaf UKPK in SPY27 sounds good to me!

Bonus points for G10...

Cool idea! How has this worked in the past? Order via a special page like a Mule? Or respond to a post to the forum?

That blue that goes with the SPY27 is a nice color. I'm up for a UKPK in this combo, for sure.

OK, so we are basically giving Sal a chance to pick between an UKPK in Magnacut in yellow FRN, or an UKPK in Spy27 in blue FRN - both in a drop-point. I think that is fair enough :savouring

If that’s the direction it goes, I personally think the forum knife should differentiate itself further from the existing regular production SPY27 models. In other words, I think a SPY27 forum knife should be a color different color from the regular production SPY27 models. Making it the same color will cause confusion down the line.

I would be down with the "What color is it?" Manix SPY27 color in G10 for the UKPK. Different from the other Cobalt Blue SPY27 Para3 and Native5.

What about adding some cool inlay like the Centofante has? That would look cool on the Cobalt Blue. But I guess that that would be too much of a cost factor.

I like the idea of both models mentioned by Sal , both are knives appealing across a broad spectrum and hits all the buttons globally. MG2

Could a coloured spacer be added on the back of the UKPK ? Seeing as it's empty.

That wouldn't be possible for the Lil' Native Slipit though. But perhaps a hardware with blue anodisation could be fitted ?

I'd be down with this but would prefer something other than yellow.

SPY 27 with Burgundy Micarta Lil’ Native SLIPIT.

I think the Lil’ Native is small enough not to warrant liners with the micarta. Also if they engraved forum knife down the backspacer it would be a nice touch.
