The action is quite good! You may have a break in period at first but with a little fluorinated grease mine feel 99% as good as my G10.

Thanks for the welcome everyone. I’ve never used an FRN Native before. Is the action good? I’ve heard it doesn’t run on washers.
I own two FRN Native 5’s: one in S110V and one in LC200N. Both have good action. I don’t notice any difference in action between my FRN Native 5’s and my older G10 Native 5 with steel liners. Most of the friction on the FRN models’ action comes from the strong lock bar pressing against the blade tang (which you can tell by fully depressing the lock bar so that the blade swings free, where it experiences very little friction). I use a bit of Frog Lube paste on the blade tang where it contacts the lock bar and it keeps the action very smooth.

I have an LC200N Native 5 Salt. Two years in it's drop shut smooth and has been for some time. This and the linerless Pacific Salt 2 are two of my preferred summer knives so they admittedly get a lot of action at the pivot and broke in fast.

Are we ever going to get this knife? Hogue and now Case have already shipped knives with Magnacut blades.

That could be me! lol. One I am definitely waiting for but I may also get the LC200N cuz I dig the green handles. At least when Spyderco does release it, I know it will be done right. Not in a rush to get another brand's magnacut, I can wait!..

KSF has the LC200N model listed now as coming soon . According to Sal the Magnacut will be later . I personally don’t know a timeline looking forward to see reveal for both releases . MG2

I recall that Sal recently mentioned that the N5 Magnacut should appear in about 1-2 months.

Sal.

Clearly a lot of makers have released MagnaCut knives ahead of the N5, but I see that they are generally running several points lower in heat treat then the Mule. Which for the record I had and used for a solid 3 months in my kitchen, and I was very impressed with everything it was able to do at 61-62 HRC.

Is there any chance that you guys are going to bump it up a little more to maximize performance? Don't get me wrong I won't be mad if you don't but there's that whole "Reliable High Performance" thing 😉

A bright BLUE handle color for MagnaCut would be nice to differentiate it with YELLOW for H-1/H-2 and GREEN for LC200N.
As said by others, an orange handle for the Magnacut blade would make sense.

However, one could imagine that Magnacut might eventually superseed H-2 or LC200N, in which case only two colour schemes would be needed (i.e. yellow and green - as yellow is already shared by Magnacut and H-2, and the latter might give way to the former).

Hogue and Chris Reeve Knives are both running it harder than that, both listing 63-64 hrc.

Soon there will be two types of Native5 Salt folders: Native5 Salt MagnaCut with Yellow FRN and Native5 Salt LC200N with Green FRN.

This is really the only hotly anticipated Spyderco of '22 for me :(

Don't hold your breath on seeing this anytime soon, continued production issues with this relatively new unproven steel in a folder format, is concerning.
