Salt Snap-it shackle removal

#1

Post by ajl808 »

Has anyone removed the shackle on a Salt Snap-it?

I would like to know if the existing hardware still fits with the shackle removed? Or do you need shorter hardware?

Thanks for the feedback!

I popped mine off for a disassembly but I didnt reassemble without the shackle.

So... I dont know.
Bumping your thread though.

Just pull the pivot screw and remove the carabiner. All you need is a torx driver.

Interesting, I didn't realize the carabiner was removable. I have always wondered why Spyderco put it on the pivot end. Less chance of accidental blade opening that way?

Pretty sure that’s it. They also had the remote release, which placed the carabiner on the other end.
I'm happiest with Micarta and Tool Steel.

Top four in rotation: K390 + GCM PM2, ZCarta Shaman, Crucarta PM2, K390 + GCM Straight Spine Stretch.
