New Knife Day. Spydiechef

#1

Post by Jerome Howard »

Look what came this morning. My new Spydiechef. A very impressive knife so far. They look great in photos, but when it's in my hand, it looks even better. SILKY smooth action. Very solid lockup with no play of any kind. Very sharp. Very. As in hair splitting sharp.

Its going into my rotation, but I'm really looking forward to using it on camping trips as a kitchen knife. I guess that's what it was designed for. I'm pretty sure that the steel will be great.

Congratulations.
Right now, if I had to pick a grail knife, this would be it.

The chef at one point was the only knife I carried. When I moved into this house, I packed up every knife I owned except for the chef. It was my one, do it all pocket knife. Then at some point I was dumb and sold it to a friend of mine. Once I realized what I had done, I bought it again a second time.

In fact, it is not perfect and it doesn't check all the boxes for me, but if I could only have one pocket knife and it was the chef, I'd be happy.

It's an amazing knife and one of my favorite I own. Like others have said, it may not be my first choice as a forever EDC but if I could only pick one Spyderco out of all I own to be it, then the Chef would be the one.

New knife day is best day.

The Spydiechef is a great knife. I don't carry mine nearly as often as I should. I've always been a fan of knives that have that slight 'S' curve/sweep between the blade and handle.
