Agreed. It should have been a much nicer steel, cost less, and should have also doubled as a periscope.

I for one am pretty excited for this release! One of my favorite Spydercos, and unfortunately the one I regret selling most was my fluted titanium native 5. I loved the maching on the scales, and I am sure these aluminum ones are going to meet, or surpass that quality. Also, linerless sounds awesome and besides being lighter I bet it will feel overall more "sturdy" / "rigid".

Pictured below is my very first Golden, Co Spyderco a Paramilitary 2. A short time down the road I decided to swap over to a set of aluminum Flytanium scales. However, instead of being linerless like tomorrow's exclusive these have the liners inside them making the overall knife heavier / beefy. Not sure if they are the same type of aluminum, but I am excited to get this exclusive in hand to compare the two!

Well, I guess my fears of this shutting down the BHQ site were unfounded hahah...

I was able to get a green one without any issue at all right at 10 am MST and they're still in stock well after the fact..

I didn’t buy one but purple would have been my first choice too.

I'm surprised it wasn't featured on a youtube video before launch. All we had was the pictures posted. So many pm2 sprint runs in 2021.

I broke down and ordered the green one. Earlier I decided I was going to get one. Then I decided I should just use what I have. But then I don't currently own a PM2. I was busy with work at launch, so I figured they would be gone. And then there they were. I held out as long as I could. I am a weak man.

I got a green one. I actually think these will be a sleeper hit after theyre gone.

I like pm2.
I like titanium/steel/aluminum handles just fine.
I like bd1n as an everyday user steel. Its just soooo easy to sharpen, even for us folk who arent good at sharpening.
I like that its somehow lighter than the standard pm2. Ill consider this the pre pm2 lightweight.
I like the handle milling and how the pattern looks.
Price is reasonable.

Ive held off on the last several pm2 exclusives but this picture sold it for me.

Also... I have no idea what the future might hold for an frn pm2 lightweight but, this is probably the last non-frn pm2 that will ever be priced below $150.

I like aluminum just fine in smaller models, 3 inch or under, so hopefully these sell well enough to have other models made as exclusives. Let's cross our fingers that aluminum is not now exclusive to BHQ.

I think the ideal move would have been to get all three and mix up the scales.

No, those aren't moire artifacts but part of its actual pattern, Mushroom pointed it out earlier in this thread and seeing the close up pics confirmed this.

I am also surprised that these sold out as quickly as they did. Apparently the right combination of novel/Interesting scale, low price, and incredibly popular design. Different steel helps too, even if not a more popular one.
Nice work BHQ.
