Everything is going up these days, just have to get used to it folks!
i should probably stop complaining about prices for knives i wouldn't buy anyway. this one looks cool, but it just doesn't have a place in my collection and i can't spend that much on knives regardless.

At least it’s nearly 3 weeks away, and gives us a little time to have the funds ready, unless another exclusive rears its head!

For reference, I purchased my original Tuff 3V (C151GTI) on June 30, 2013 for $206.99 (before MAP enforcement started)! The original had dimples on both the G-10 show side and the titanium frame lock side (no stainless steel interface) which cost more to manufacture. It's a hefty folder at 6.6 ounces and without dimples it's probably closer to 7 ounces.

I am really stoked to see these Taichung models this year. I could almost see just owning the 4 Taichung exclusives and being good. A Slysz Bowie, R. Lobster, Tuff, and M4 Smock is a pretty sick combo, imo.

I hope it's ground thinner than the original, which has a (Surprising for an Ed Schempp design) rather poor edge geometry.

Those dimples are not so flattering…

What's worse about the dimples is how amazing the prototype was.

Whoa! They could even use the Waterway’s diamond g10 pattern to mirror it! What a missed opportunity, thankfully they’ve got an opportunity to rectify it ;)

I doubt they would rectify such a massive change in the scale pattern for future releases...

Well, it's not often that I have to swallow my words, but pleasantly bemused to be proven wrong. Though I guess the new scales meant new tooling, therefore the drastic increase in price? Was interested before but 300 bucks over isn't something I would readily fork over for an exclusive no matter how awesome it is. But thanks to DLT for taking risks with other Spydercos aside from the Paramilitary family!

While not for me, thanks go to Jordan and DLT for choosing a cool model for a sprint. Well done, I’m looking forward to see what else is in store from DLT and Spyderco.

Here she is, boys - and here's our announcement text

DLT is pleased to announce our Spyderco Tuff exclusive! Featuring a TiCn coated Cru-Wear blade and a high traction OD Green G10 handle scale, this Tuff needs to be part of your collection. Built like a tank, this exclusive Tuff is streamlined with dimpleless show and lock sides. Available on July 20th at 11am Central for $315 each; limit 2 per customer.
Any chance you could post a lock side picture? Is it coated as well or just blasted titanium? Thanks!

Very cool to see retailers like DLT and BHQ reviving discontinued models. There are a few I’m hoping to see in the future!

It's interesting to see a retailer taking this kind of chance. Para 2s and 3s are pretty much a mortal lock to sell out, so you hardly even see Millies anymore. The recent Bowie exclusive is a bit unusual, but again, there was never much doubt of the model's popularity. The Tuff, though, is definitely a knife for people that love 'em some Spyderco.

So, is DLC a Golden-only treatment?
AFAIK Golden is only equipped to DLC & Seki is only equipped to do TiCN

Though off hand I do not recall a black blade in a Taichung model, this release would seem to indicate they are TiCN equipped...

Does anyone else recall a black blade (DLC or TiCN) in a Taichung model?

It's definitely a cool knife, and the price is fair. It just isn't for me. I do like that they're taking chances with more exotic exclusives though. Good luck to everyone who tries to get one.

The black Perrin PPT Sprint run has a TiCN coated blade. The Mamba is also partially coated with TiCN.

Man the Tuff is an amazing aesthetic. In Cruwear no less! I’d love to have one, but the price is beyond my pain tolerance.

^Hmmm... Perhaps you could get in touch with the folks that pay me and explain that to them.^^^

Are folk all over getting pay increases? That'd be fantastic if so! Betting a lot of folks could "get used" to that ;)

This Tuff Exclusive. Any specs on it? According to info I found on a sellers web site, The original had a 3" cutting edge with a 0.16" thick blade, and an almost 1" ricasso. I'm wondering if this one will be like that.
