Firstly:
- If I could keep more than one (so two or more): The Chap FRN would always be the number two (but could never ever be the number one, like in being my only folder - just way to small for that role)

- If there´ll ever be an Endura 4 VG10 SE ffg, this would certainly be number 1

- My rankings might look different even just tomorrow... this is only how I feel right now..

5:
Endura 4 HAP40
Stretch 1 HAP40
Endela SE VG10
Pac Salt 1 SE
Chaparral FRN

4:
Endura 4 HAP40
Stretch 1 HAP40
Pac Salt 1 SE
Chaparral FRN

3:
Endura 4 HAP40
Pac Salt 1 SE
Chaparral FRN

2:
Endura 4 HAP40
Chaparral FRN

1:
Endura 4 HAP40
Top three going by pocket-time (update March 24):
- EDC: Endura thin red line ffg combo edge (VG10); Wayne Goddard PE (4V), Endela SE (VG10)
-Mountains/outdoors: Pac.Salt 1 SE (H1), Salt 2 SE (LC200N), and also Wayne Goddard PE (4V)

I only have 3 spyderco knives at the moment (Para 3, GB1 and Brouwer) and should I keep just one then ...

1. Brouwer

Love that little fella!
... I like weird :bug-red :bug-white-red :bug-white ...

The Stretch would win as a single knife for versatility, although I use the K390 Urban and the ZDP189 Dragonfly far more.

There's no way I can make one list like this because I have some knives for different reasons. They're all users but some I definitely just like more than I use, so I'd have to make a top 5 users and top 5 "just because".

Top 5 users:

5:
Caribbean sheepscliffe SE
Rock Jumper SE
Autonomy 1
Stretch 2 SE
Dragonfly Salt SE

4:
Caribbean sheepscliffe SE
Rock Jumper SE
Autonomy 1
Stretch 2 SE

3:
Caribbean sheepscliffe SE
Rock Jumper SE
Autonomy 1

2:
Autonomy 1
Caribbean sheepscliffe SE

1:
Caribbean sheepscliffe SE

Honestly#1 could go either way with the Autonomy or Caribbean, but the Caribbean is a better slicer so it got my first choice.

Top 5 "just because"

5:
Military 52100
Shaman Crucarta
Sliverax
Yojimbo 2 S90V/CF
Manix 2 S110V custom

4:
Military 52100
Shaman Crucarta
Sliverax
Yojimbo 2 S90V/CF

3:
Military 52100
Shaman Crucarta
Sliverax

2:
Military 52100
Shaman Crucarta

1:
Military 52100

Again with those last two it could go either way. I think they're two of the best combos Spyderco has ever produced.

If that 52100 Military came in full SE with a thin grind it would likely take the top spot of all of them.

My lil knife pile has diversified and grown since Spyderco put me into the rabbit hole. But if we are talking just spydies it would be as follows:

1. Shaman
2. Hundred Pacer
3. Spydiechef
4. Bushcraft
5. Waterway

These would be my top pics in terms of construction and use.

The fun of these polls has turned to anguish for me.

On the one hand, I don’t like pitting Sal’s, Eric’s, or collaboration designs one against the other. Different aesthetics are involved, even within these design categories.

On the other hand, I approach each new Spydie acquisition as the one I want to make more than any other. This approach doesn’t mean I want that Spydie more than others I already have.

The only way I can reconcile my impulses is to take Sal’s “All good, just different” not as a casual statement but as a profound one.

Getting to five, let alone to one, just doesn’t make sense anymore.

Ask me tomorrow and it might very well be the Stretch... ;) Endura is more versatile though due to its longer blade...

This is a little like Sophie's Choice, thank heavens it's only a thought experiment.

Five:
- Police 4 FRN K390
- GB2
- Stretch 2 SS
- Para 3 Maxamet
- Techno 2

Four:
- Police 4 FRN K390
- GB2
- Stretch 2 SS
- Para 3 Maxamet

Three:
- GB2
- Stretch 2 SS
- Para 3 Maxamet

Two:
- GB2
- Stretch 2 SS

One:
- GB2

Realistically it could be any combination of the original five going down the line as they are all so **** good.
Past: Dragonfly, Air, Rhino, Lil' Native, Techno 2, Caly Jr., Brouwer, Chap LW, Para3, N5, Watu, ‘Chef, Mantra 2, SSStretch, PM2, Smock, Shaman, Advocate, GB2, Kapara, Military, Bradley Bowie, Province

Present: P4 K390 FRN

Future: Para3 Cruwear (someday)

Regrets: Most of them

Disclaimer: I only have 3 Spydercos and have never handled #4 or #5 (although I'm not counting my Ladybug keychain knife).

Please extrapolate from this list:
5. Caribbean Leaf Blade PlainEdge
4. Drunken
3. Sage 5 LW ( with custom scales -- maybe cheating, but that's what I've got!)
2. SpydieChef
1. Chaparral CF/G-10

Balancing utility, practicality and beauty/appreciation, it's tough to find the right mix.

No. 5 goes, then No. 4, etc., with No. 1 being my final, best do-it-all:

5. PM2, C81GPDBL2
4. UKPK, C94PDBL
3. Dragonfly2, C28PYL2
2. Caly 3, C113CFPD
1. Chap, C152PGY

This is tough:

Five:
- Military 52100
- Native Chief Rex45
- Police 4 LW K390
- Manix 2 LW Rex45
- Street Beat LW

Four:
- Military 52100
- Native Chief Rex45
- Police 4 LW K390
- Street Beat LW

Three:
- Military 52100
- Native Chief Rex45
- Street Beat LW

Two:
- Military Rex45
- Street Beat LW

One:
- Delica 4 K390

Like many others, my "only one Spyderco" shows up at the end after not making a showing previously. The reason I'd choose the Delica 4 is that it's probably my favorite, most well-rounded model. Realistically, the SB takes the cake. It is my absolute, all-time favorite model, and if we ever get one in K390 (or Rex45 ^_^) it would take the #1 spot hands down everytime.

My list is pretty easy because my 5 whittles down to two models quickly, my 52100 Military and the back up along with my GB1 and the second that I own of it. They are the only two knives that I have ever bought back ups for and I am a big fan of each, but if it's down to one knife I would take the 52100 Millie. I guess the odd knife out of the two for the 5th would be my Sage Maxamet. I am pretty blown away by that one.

Can't include backups!

I have two backup Mantra 1s, two back up dragonfly salts, and 1 back up for both the junction and the chap 1 lol :D

Great choice - if it only were bigger (for being the ONLY knife) - I so hope Sal will look into a Chap XL eventually...

Isn't the Chap XL = the Caly 3?

Though this can and will change on a day to day basis, I think the endura and siren will always be at the top for me. haven’t had the Rex chief for long enough to definitively say it’s in the top 5 yet, but I can absolutely see it being added to the list.
