For a minute I thought the steel over the opening hole had somehow broken off!

This steel continues to impress me

In which ways? I was not TOO impressed with the CTS BD1 in my Manix LW (it was ok, but I liked VG10 better), but I hear the "N" makes a lot of difference (aka the switch to CTS BD1 N )?
Top three going by pocket-time (update March 24):
- EDC: Endura thin red line ffg combo edge (VG10); Wayne Goddard PE (4V), Endela SE (VG10)
-Mountains/outdoors: Pac.Salt 1 SE (H1), Salt 2 SE (LC200N), and also Wayne Goddard PE (4V)

Yes. The N changes everything. I also had a bd1 manix and wasn’t super impressed, it’s good, but you gotta sharpen it!!! I had a para 3 LW to try bd1n, it wasn’t my thing but when I heard they were rolling these out with bd1n I sold it and found one of these. I feel like it’s not even a fair name for it. I like everything about it. Sharpenability, edge holding, strops back up to hair popping very easily. It’s in my top 5. It’s more likely to roll than chip, not something I care about much but some will.

I forgot to add, the edge stability is great. I get performance above vg10.

The key with it is like every other steel. Gotta sharpen away the factory stuff and get to the fresh metal and i do believe you would be singing it’s praises as well.

This waved Delica kindly on loan from a friend of mine here on the forum, Drahkis!

I've been carrying it this past week to give the Wave feature a fair shake.
Also carrying the Ti Squarehead today. :)

My very first Spyderco, the tough and trusty Delica CE, with me on an evening trail run... :)

I have three in my pockets today. So I can void the warranty on two of them.

Out on a run with a chance of rain, so it was with only a hint of reluctance that I replaced the Police 4 in my pocket with this trusty friend:

As it turned out, there was hardly a cloud in the sky.

Thank you Meat man! Both most definitely are. And I’d say she set the bar pretty high for her b-day too!

Tilden or Wildcat?
I'm happiest with Micarta and Tool Steel.

Top four in rotation: K390 + GCM PM2, ZCarta Shaman, Crucarta PM2, K390 + GCM Straight Spine Stretch.
