I'm honestly very impressed, and shocked...21 comments in now, and not a single BBS bashing!

Ding, your wish has been granted! Unfortunately you'd have to buy it in iran to get it for that price however. They are currently rioting over the price increase from a mere 25c a gallon a month ago.

Just a little bump in life's road.aaronkb wrote: ↑Tue Nov 26, 2019 12:09 pmI’m 100% certain they will once I get around to sending the knife in... but I don’t think the end-user should have to deal with a manufacturer’s warranty department and a weeks-long turnaround time before they have the quality product they paid for in the first place. That’s what the retailer is for, because it really doesn’t hurt them to be short one knife for a few weeks while Spyderco deals with it.Tucson Tom wrote: ↑Mon Nov 25, 2019 11:27 pmSpyderco would make that right if it really was a QC issue.

Does anybody know where BBS is located? I did not see an address anywhere on their website.
Re: I almost missed out - K390 PM2
The shipping notifications start from CA. I forget the exact city but if I remember correctly it is in the L.A. area.Forest Green wrote: ↑Wed Nov 27, 2019 4:25 amDoes anybody know where BBS is located? I did not see an address anywhere on their website.
Do right always. It will give you satisfaction in life.

Welllllllll..... My bhq M4/jade para 3 cost me about what a K390 BBS para3 would cost. I added oem black g10 scales, a blue anodized ti lanyard tube from a guy down unda, and a lynch clip.
I’d love to get one of the BBS K390 para3’s, but I’m on double secret probation from buying Spydercos... I’d have to trade for one at this point.

Sorry.
Hey, let me just say I smile every time I see Vivi's new forum image. And I don't want to whine about anything. I'm just enjoying this new knife. I just wish I could type and maybe even spell. I'll say it this way ... I am thankful for this K390 PM2 I have here.

Wait so is this what all the BBS hate is about? People are trying to buy safe queens but BBS won't accept responsibility for minor flaws which are obviously within range for Spyderco's quality assurance? Like blade centering, hardware flushness, minor scratches, etc?Tucson Tom wrote: ↑Mon Nov 25, 2019 11:27 pmSpyderco would make that right if it really was a QC issue.
I'm happiest with Micarta and Tool Steel.
Top four in rotation: K390 + GCM PM2, ZCarta Shaman, Crucarta PM2, K390 + GCM Straight Spine Stretch.

Personally I like to support business' that have a human face, and if needed a voice to talk with on the phone, part of this is knowing where the company is located, allowing me to feel a real connection. I'm always leery if there is an element of secrecy; that said I have ordered several times from BBS, never had a problem, and was glad to get something I couldn't find from known vendors, but, if I could find from known vendors my preference would be to buy from them.

Re: I almost missed out - K390 PM2
Well that is what this whole post was about really. I think the BBS hate is a sort of "echo effect" amplification on this forum. I started this post to try to paint a clearer picture.kennethsime wrote: ↑Thu Nov 28, 2019 8:41 pm

There are really only two negatives I know of. One is that the total price (knife plus shipping) is higher than other sellers. The other is that they don't accept returns.
There you have it. Nothing more complex than that. The price is just something you have to make your own decision about. The issue of returns is covered by taking any real issues to Spyderco.
In my case, I was willing to accept all this and got a great knife as a result. Not a really complex decision to make.
If they were selling regular production knives at higher prices, there would be no reason to give them business, but they have unique and desirable things. You can say "I won't do business with them" and this is a valid decision, but you won't have a K390 Paramilitary in your hand.
As someone else pointed out, the fact that their higher prices discourage many buyers means that you don't have a 10 minute time window to score whatever exclusive they are offering. I for one view this as a value added benefit.
I guess some people think that if they complain enough, they will get this seller to change policies, or something like that -- but there is nothing dishonest or immoral going on.
Re: I almost missed out - K390 PM2
BBS just seems like a small grocery store with high prices. There's never more than 2 cars in the parking lot (as opposed to Walmart being absolutely packed), and some people like that.
Re: I almost missed out - K390 PM2
Figured I needed some K390 in my life and pulled the trigger on a PM2. Pretty stoked to run her through the paces.

I picked up a cpm Cruwear military from bbs. Glad they had them new in stock. I hope they get the military k390.
Re: I almost missed out - K390 PM2
Too bad BBS international shipping rates are so high... makes it really hard to pull the trigger on one of those exclusives

Re: I almost missed out - K390 PM2
This one has tempted me for a long time. And during this quarantine Time I finally convinced myself to pull the trigger. Probably the best straight out of the box pm2 to date for me. Glad I was able to grab one and it didn’t sell out in minutes
