What did you use your Spyderco for last?
Re: What did you use your Spyderco for last?
This one was before the TV show. Before curves were in. Of course for some of us curves have always been in.Sonorum wrote: ↑Tue Feb 18, 2020 11:55 pmI didn't know Kris Jenner designed knives

Cutting heavy plastic banding, and the thin plastic outer-wrap. On a skid of thick plastic sheets (PVC) that just arrived (1" x 4' x 8' - 36 sheets).
This stack of sheet-stock goes up on some racking, before we cut the bundle open. I do this becasue the sheets are so slick, they can easily slide off during placement, if not secured.
This stack of plastic, is the lightest thing I put on this rack. So it goes all of the way on top (twelve feet off of the floor).
Like a dummy. I opened up my Rex 45 Shaman, before heading up the ladder. :o
After getting half way up. I bump the open knife on the ladder rail, and it fell to the floor. It fell about 5 to 6 feet. I watched it fall, and of course it all seemed to be in slow-motion! :D
It did one rotation on the way down, and landed directly on its tip into the concrete (Murphy's Law  ). Blowing out a piece of the concrete, about the size of a kernel of corn in the process.

Poor concrete didn't know what hit it :p It's a terrible feeling dropping a knife, good nobody got hurt though.SteveMidwest wrote: ↑Wed Feb 19, 2020 10:31 amCutting heavy plastic banding, and the thin plastic outer-wrap. Been using my HB ladybug to cut twist ties with thin metal wire. It's wrecking the edge a bit, but I needed a knife for this task, and the hb lady is the perfect shape for it, and the least expensive knife in the drawer.

Opened a new bag of dog food with my titanium Millie. It's so enjoyable how a well-sharpened Spydie blade just dives through plastic packaging.

Opened the box holding my new (to me) St Nicks Shaman.
Re: What did you use your Spyderco for last?
My ghetto can opener broke(didn't even puncture the can!), but I already had the pasta cooked... It was getting opened!

No damage, a little dulled. Came back to life with about 5 passes per side on the browns.
