Li'l guy is putting in some WORK. No slicing; the blade's not big enough. Just push cutting some polish sausage and cheese to go with my cheap wine, hahaha.

Haven't had a chance to use it much yet, but I'm already this byrd cara cara 2. Came with a razor sharp edge, which I briefly stropped to a very high sharpness. With its sharpenability and thin blade, it's going to see some pocket time. It's also built like a tank for the price.

Re: What Spyderco is in your pocket today??
Nope, just right. :D Tip down yields much better ergos for me on the pm2, and I don't have to reposition my hand to open the blade (middle finger flick or thumb) when I take it out of my pocket. Having at least one knife on me that I'm able to open quickly is important to me at work (potentially dangerous environment on the water). I'll likely leave the byrd as is, partially because it isn't flickable, and partially because it won't often be the only knife I'm carrying. Tip up vs tip down completely depends on the model for me and reason for carry.

Those carcaras are great. I don't have an ffg endura so I imagine its similar. I got the stainless too cause it was like a budget police. Great for cutting food. I cut up two whole watermelons with it.Pelagic wrote: ↑Fri Dec 07, 2018 8:39 pm

Just be aware on the stainless byrds, the pocket clip screws were stripped on two of mine, be careful if ur trying to switch it.
