If you want a crux and you want to use it do not ordner a blue one. Mine looked like i dragged it behind the car after a week, the finish on it is very delicate.. I only wore it around the house and opened a few packages..

I'm not sure which one I'd order. If I went with the original (plain) I was going to go with blue. Now I'm thinking I'd rather spend a little extra for the Juggernaut or Saber editions. Undecided on color at this point. They all look nice.

Thanks for posting that pic. I see the Crux is bigger than the Gent but not by as much as I thought. Looks like the edge length is pretty close on both. Not sure if I'll order the Crux now.

Definitely not Spydies but Spyderco is kind of unique. The thing about the Gent (Crux too apparently) is that they're nice, relatively simple designs that are executed very well (IMO). I've come to like my Gent so much that I'd get rid of a lot of other knives before I'd let it go.

This was my #1 pick for awhile, but the more I thought about it the more I wanted a Chapparal FRN instead. I realize they don’t directly compete with each other design-wise, but I could get only one knife at this kind of money. Maybe next year, if it’s not completely sold out by then.

WE has another one that looks a whole bunch like this one; I think Ferrum Forge gave away a sizable portion of the design here. But since sub-$100 knives aren’t the space they’re in, FF likely don’t mind.

Chaparral FRN is a fine choice! There's so many great knives out there. It's hard to pick sometimes.

The buc arrived at last, my favorite so far. Love the bladeshape and the finish seems much more durable. Action is even better than the crux, the handle is a litte Thin and not so comfortable, but i dont care, its sexy :)

I received the rosewood Gent Select yesterday. It's better than expected! :)

I think the satin finished blade (like the original) would look nicer with the rosewood than the stonewash. I'm considering a scale swap between the two.

Massdrop's doing another run of the Gent. This time their offering rosewod or carbon fiber scales. They're $20 more but still a great value IMO.

I'm really happy with OD green Gent but I'm tempted to get the rosewood one too.
Waiting for delivery as we speak.

I figured they'd have another drop. I'll be interested to know what you think. Did you go with the Rosewood or CF?

The rosewood. Also, this forum is causing me some serious budget issues.

Ok, I got the little fellow in and it looks great. Very stiff action (ug) and very, very little. I think I might gift this one as it's really small.

Stiff action? Well that's disappointing to read. One of the things that impresses me the most about these knives (at least my two) is how smooth the action is. The detent is perfect on my two as well.

Yes, it is a small knife. Did you see my comparison pics on the first page of this thread? The Gent is similar in size to the Chaparral and BM 707 Sequel. I happen to like small knives so the size is great (IMO).

Good to hear (er...read). How does it flip? Both of mine are among the best flippers I own. ZT 0450 might be a hair better but it's close. The detent on the Gents are better tuned to my liking.

I know you said the Gent seemed too small but I'd suggest giving it a chance. Carry it and use it a bit. My OD green one really came to life after I reprofiled the blade. I'll reprofile the new rosewood one as soon as time permits.

BTW, I'd love to see a pic of yours. Is the finish on the scales similar to mine or is it light like the stock photos?
