The Advocate is not the CQI but I wonder if it could be sent to Spyderco for an exchange?
Unless there was an actual problem with it, I doubt it.

Nice. The Para 3 + Dfly 2 could be a great starter pack, or holiday gifts.
That one jumped out at me too.

That's the promo that caught my eye. If it was the CQI I would jump on it.

Constant Quality Improvement
I thought there was a page dedicated to explaining CQI on :spyder: .com but I can't find it... maybe it was in a byte at some point. Here is a quote from Sal back in 2001.

Hi MePlat. Welcome to the Spyderco forum.

Our purpose in improvements to a model are to refine and create a better, safer, more functional tool. When we learn a better process or customers point out potential improvements, these are added.

We like to think of it more as "evolution" of a pattern. If you are not using the old knife, a new one will serve no purpose.

Most of the refinements are small, but serve a function. occassionally, we make a larger improvememnt.

Industrially, it would be called CQI or "Constant Quality Improvement".

When we want to create the "newest, latest and greatest", we design a totally new patttern like the ATR, Salsa, Temperance or Meerkat.

Has there been any CQI on the Dice? It has the same problem as the Advocate. I searched the forum but didn't find any mention of a fix.

The Sprig is for sale at GP for $159 and Mantra 1 for $149. Had to pick up a sprig at that price. Not sure if this is a mistake or not...

At a glance I think KC has the lowest closeout prices so far:

Thank God, the BHQ prices are hardly a discount at all. Better prices on ebay.

I jumped the gun and got a One eyed Jack from BHQ. A lot cheaper at Knifecenter but on the plus side I'd rather support BHQ.
