BladeHQ video and Joyce

#1

Post by ThePeacent »

Just saw this on my subscription feed, great video of Spyderco's employees EDC knives. And I had never seen Joyce in person! :D
Nice to put a face on her after these years. And what a great classic is her EDC

Hope you like it as much as I did!:

I’m excited to watch it but I haven’t yet. I was sort of shocked when bladehq emailed me with the top 5 Spyderco knives of all time.

1. PM2
2. Delica
3. Para 3
4. Tenacious
5. Shaman

I wonder how they arrived at that. Is it by sales, clicks, personal opinion? I mean, the ukpk isn’t even on the list so clearly something is wrong. Hahaha.
Most recently acquired: Military 2, Paramilitary 2 Tanto x2, YoJUMBO, Swayback, Siren, DLC Yojimbo 2, Native Chief, Shaman S90V, Para 3 LW, Ikuchi, UKPK, Smock, SUBVERT, Amalgam, Para 3 CTS-XHP, Kapara, Paramilitary 2 M390
Grail Paramilitary 2 M390 X 2! ACHIEVED!!

I saw this list this morning and was really surprised the Shaman was on it, mostly because I've never seen one in the wild. I know people on this forum really love the Shaman, but I didn't know it was a mainstream love for the knife.

I did breakdown yesterday and pick up a Shaman to try it out...it was hard to pass up at $130 new from Cabalas.

Yes-
Interesting that they are ALL in production still..
No way has the shaman outsold the ladybug..

No way Shaman or even Para 3 have outsold the Ladybug, Dragonfly, or Endura. Talking about decades in production in multiple generations

Maybe they’re just the top sellers at the moment.

Oops, I see it says all time. Weird.

Great video, it's cool to put faces to some names at Spyderco and to see what the crew there are carrying. It's really great to see how they have pride in their product and that many of them choose to carry knives that are made right in the Golden facility where they work.

Maybe the list is BHQ’s most popular Spyderco of all time? I haven’t seen the video just yet, but maybe BHQ has sold more pm2’s and pm3’s due to their exclusive models. The tenacious and Delica make sense, but the Shaman was definitely a surprise. For me, the price is far too high to have expected it to be in the top 5.
