I’ve been working in the yard since about 7:30am running a chainsaw and picking up oak tree windfall from Hurricane Michael. My office is closed tomorrow too, so I might get it all picked up this weekend.

I had my M4 para3 in my pocket, using it to cut vines and small limbs that were still binding up the branches. Clearly I should have swapped out for the Salt 2, and I’m even more interested in the Hawkbill now.

s110v pm2 got a quick reprofile with 325 grit CBN and just a couple passes on ceramic to take away any burr I couldn't feel. It's freehand and varies, but I want to say it's about 12-13 degrees per side. The bite is incredibly aggressive.

Been reminding myself how much I like the Sage 5 recently! Doesn't seem to get as much love as it once did, it's definitely an underrated model these days. :spyder:

IMO better in every single way than the original Mantra. I am looking forward to carrying this tmrw. I don't have a Sliverax or Hanan so this is my first knife with the improved bearings.

My only complaint (a small one) about the Mantra is that mine has a fairly weak detent. It flips fine with firm push button technique but a stronger detent would be better. The detent on a friend's Mantra is much better. So they're not all like mine. How would you rate the detent on the Mantra 3?

I have the new bearing system in the Sliverax and Advocate and I'm very happy with them. They seem to get better with use too. I have no complaints about knives with PB washers. They're certainly smooth but (IMO) the new bearing system takes smooth to another level.

Detent is adequate, not the weakest but could be stronger. Compared to my Lil Native or PM2 which have very strong detents

Agreed. I have a feeling that whichever NL team wins is gonna get hosed by the Astros or the crimson hosiery. I generally root for the NL so if the crew get past us, I'll pull for them.
