I hope this gets enough attention that they run a stainless steel version for 2019.. or at least change the pivot to toes so it can be cleaned out
What the heck is a toe pivot? :p

Joking of course, I assume you meant torx. :)
Hahahahah, yes of course! However, I bet Spyderco could come up with a toe pivot and I bet it would sell!
When I read your post I had kind of a bad visual of cleaning out toes. Not really a good thing IMO. :D

Forced patina!?
What's that!?
C
I believe it is causing patina (stains) to form in the blade by soaking it in various substances.

Got it! Only minor gripes are pinned construction (why not torx screws like the seki salts??) on a corrosion prone steel, and not sure why they did a high mirror polish backlock and blade but a stonewash clip? Would have been really nice with a mirror polished clip. Other than that, fit and finish are perfect. Really nice. Definitely a keeper. The anti-corrosion paper with the Japanese writing is kind of cool too!

I agree non-pinned would be nice but that's the way the Calypso Jrs were made. I assume Spyderco's trying to stay consistent with all the specs for the model.

The original Jess Horn spydies were pinned pivots yet the sprint baby Jess Horn was torx pivot...kinda wish this knife had torx pivot bc a non cladded blade scares me a little with the rust factor but hey let's see what happens lol

The blade should patina to matte out with the clip. But I was hoping for a torx pivot. Make sure you use compressed air to blow it out if your getting it wet.

Quantity available is now negative 9. Quantity available less than 12 hours ago was 0. These are not "In Stock" at hand-tools.

Maybe they had them “0 in stock” because they had not received their shipment yet, and when the shipment hits, the people who bought will get their orders filled? That’s my wishful thinking for the -28 people who paid for it.

Oops, live and learn I suppose. I didn’t realize this was essentially another pre-order. Well hopefully I get at least one of my two “pre-orders”.

Or maybe they'll string folks along..."Hey, man, we're getting a bunch in and I'm pretty sure you'll get one. Well, unless you want your money back right away. If so, then you are off our list and someone else will get your knife. It won't be much longer though. I would just leave my money here and see how things pan out. But if you want your money back, it's going to take 10-14 business days before you'll actually see it. Oh, and thanks for being a customer!" FAIL!!!!
