Bow River info
Anyone know when it's hitting and what the sheath looks like. This may kick out my BK16 to be my new camping buddy!

This sucker needs to drop soon!

Someone mentioned that the sheath was leather. I'm pretty stocked about this one too.

Re: Bow River info
At that price, it's a mandatory purchase for me. I won't have that many chances on a day-to-day basis to use it, but I also won't have plowed any serious money into it, so I'll feel zero guilt about buying a nearly superfluous knife.

Guilt about buying a superfluous knife?! What is this blasphemy?dj moonbat wrote: ↑Tue Jun 12, 2018 1:54 pmAt that price, it's a mandatory purchase for me. I bet it could displace your pairing knife in the kitchen... in case you need a justification for buying one.dj moonbat wrote: ↑Tue Jun 12, 2018 1:54 pmAt that price, it's a mandatory purchase for me. Generally, if a knife isn't getting regular use, I've done something wrong. I've got too many other hobbies clamoring for my attention and dollars.tvenuto wrote: ↑Tue Jun 12, 2018 2:06 pmGuilt about buying a superfluous knife?! Really anticipating for this one!
Re: Bow River info
I'm sure there are people here who will do that, but at .12" thick it will make for a pretty lame paring knife.
I'm in the same boat as many of us... this is cheap, it's Spyderco, it's a fixed blade... and there are no cheap Spyderco fixed blades... but what on earth will I do with it?
Re: Bow River info
There is so much you can do with a knife like this. I will be skinning and breaking down deer and hogs with it. Use it as a bait knife when fishing, bbq knife(great for slicing a slab of ribs, or a brisket. The list is long.zhyla wrote: ↑Tue Jun 12, 2018 3:52 pmI'm sure there are people here who will do that, but at .12" thick it will make for a pretty lame paring knife.

Re: Bow River info
I don’t do anything but bbq from that list, and I have no shortage of kitchen knives. Seems like it would make a fine general use knife for hiking... but so does a Manix 2.

This is what I am thinking too. General all around camp knife, bait knife, food prep, game processing, etc.
Easy to sharpen + won't break the bank.
BBQ: Usually when I head N to the Sierra's: I will smoke a brisket beforehand, wrap it up in beach towel and drop it into the yeti. By the time I get up there, set up tent, etc. its about time for dinner. Brisket is still hot and perfect, + start up the pinto beans, little cornbread, little bourbon, nighty night. Then it's up early, some cowboy coffee, some left over brisket mixed in to some hash + couple over easy eggs, then I am off fishing for Rainbows. I see this knife getting a lot of use.

Re: Bow River info
I am going to buy one to see if it makes a good steak knife. If it does then I will order 7 more for a complete set of 8.
Re: Bow River info
There's now way I'm buying less than four. But I'll probably end up purchasing more than that, when it's all said and done.
I'm still crossing my fingers for an upgrade to BD1n on a future run.

Re: Bow River info
The dimensions are somewhat similar to my Spyderco Moran trailing point. I'll definitely be getting one of these to try and then probably more down the road.
