Post by TazKristi »

We're very proud to announce the 2018 Forum Knife! This limited-edition version of the iconic Para Military™ 2 includes an oval Spyderco inlay in each side of the handle. Precisely fitted into the textured gray G-10 scales, the inlays feature a polished silver web encircling a bright red Spyderco “bug” logo. This knife’s full-flat-ground PlainEdge™ blade is crafted from high-performance CPM® S90V® stainless steel and laser engraved “Forum Knife 2018.” All its other features are consistent with the best-in-class Para Military 2, including its high-strength Compression Lock™ mechanism, four-position pocket clip, and the fully accessible Trademark Round Hole™ in the blade.

The 2018 Forum Knife will be released sometime in **September 2018** (Edited to revise release date). Please visit https://www.spyderco.com/forumknife/ and complete the form to be added to our “bug" list. One week before the knife is released you will receive an e-mail with the exact date and time it will be available for purchase. Not super in love with the inlay, but I’ll reserve judgment until I see the physical piece. Oh and I’m in on any forum knife.

How fortunate that I logged into the forum to see this post today. I haven't been on the forum in quite awhile - I've been out of work for quite awhile, and it just gets that much more painful to get excited about new models that I can't afford, but I'm going to find a way to get this one.
Which Knife, A or B? get Both! (and C, D and E) :)

Glad to see you again. I took an extended hiatus myself and came back a few months ago.

Nice touch! I'm curious about the inlay, though I'm not sure how to word the question. Is it a solid oval, or just the open web with the handle's G-10 in between?

Looks like the latter but I was wondering the same.
Wouldn't have expected anything like this. Pretty cool.

I think its actually a solid oval insert.

It would require some precise and delicate milling to fit that web. It would be also be a time consuming process and I would expect the price to reflect that.

That's what I would think, but this is Spyderco we're talking about! I just can't tell from the photo. And if it is solid, what's the in-between part?

I have the last two forum knives so I'm in for this one! Like the other two I may never use but I want it just to have.

Finally!

As a package it isn’t something that overly calls to me but as a forum addict I am excited to add another forum knife to my pile of knives. Thanks Spyderco! :D

I'm very happy to see that the forum knife idea has not died with the last N5. Thanks Spyderco!!

This new one looks nice! It's not for me since I already own both PM2 and S90V (I know, stupid rule. Maybe next time!), but I'm sure it will find enough lovers easily. :) Enjoy!!
