Wishful thinking but I'm guessing clad as the rest of the HAP40 models are.
Weren‘t the first ZDP-189 models cladded, then the first solid ZDP blades came later? Why not with Hap40 as well?
I'd call it a win if it were solid HAP40 but I'm not holding my breath on it. Love my Caly 3.5 SB which is solid. Would love to see a Caly 3.5 HAP40/Green as well!

I got in on the pre-order early. The web listing sure has the SUS410 Laminate scrubbed from both the Description and Specifications!
Is there a general Knife Center length of time from Pre-order to In ship?

Nope! They ship after they receive their shipment(s) from Spyderco. No telling when that will actually be. They started taking pre-orders for the Caly 3 sprint run almost a year before they started to drop. So it could be awhile but hopefully not.

It's a sprint run not an exclusive AFAIK.So, what the heck are the other vendors cooking ?!  I decided to stay away from KC since I was burned with one of their famous "pre-orders" :(

Yeah me too, after waiting ten months for a Caly3 I finally gave up. Hope springs eternal though so I'm giving them one more chance on this one. :o

Lulz, I feel your pain Strider. I get word from KC once a week... they say your pre-order isn't ready yet.

I almost cancelled my pre-order for the sprint run and opted for the S30V exclusive. I already have several knives with HAP40 and a few with burnt orange scales (not exactly my favorite color). I like bright orange and I also like S30V, plus it's available now, so I almost went with it. Then I thought about how I've regretted not getting one of the HAP40 Delicas when they dropped. So now I continue to patiently wait for these to drop so I can finally have my first Wharnie Delica. I might even swap the scales with the bright orange regular Delica I've had for awhile....we'll see.

Yeah when that Ebay deal was going on I almost canceled my preorder and went with the s30v version. It was very tempting. I lament not having a Jazzlica in my rotation yet, but I know when I finally get my hands on the Hap 40 one I'll feel it was worth wating for.

If Murphy’s Law has anything to say about this, I’m sure I just helped get this long-awaited release moving forward. I’ve been waiting on this to drop, but also watching stock levels of the CS S30V version. With CS down to about 10 in stock, I finally pulled the trigger on the S30V version yesterday.
That said, the Hap40 is now bound to have some meaningful ETA update just to mess with me!

Someone in one of the FB groups posted a pic of their new Delica Wharncliffe HAP40. The guy's from Europe and said his local dealer got it from a European wholesaler.

Edit: apparently in stock here:

Cool, that guy might be the second person in the world to own one. ;)
Time for another :spyder:!
