Yeah, this comes along just after I indulged and picked up a couple of things I have been waffling over for a long time.
But it is hard, really hard, to resist anything in M4. Blade HQ seems to have a handle on the central knives in the Spyderco
lineup these days. Military, PM2, Manix, and now the Native. I don't think they could have picked better, and M4 is my favorite
steel. I am waiting to see if K390 bumps it off the throne, but I actually think it will be very much the same.

The plain G10 has grown on me. I passed up the original PM2 offering with M4 and plain G10 because it was the first time I had seen a knife in plain G10 and I looked at it and said, "bleah! -- What are they thinking?!?" But I regretted it.

The Manix with plain G10 and the polished silvery liners looks quite handsome in my opinion. But beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

But I am now quite adjusted to the plain "jade" G10 now, and M4 certainly makes up for any concerns based on appearance.

awesome! blade swap?? what was the process and was the blade a perfect swap? i'd like to swap the M4 blade into the S110V Blurple scales/liner.

This combo should be a production knife right here. Peel Ply CF with stainless liners and M4...take my money please! :eek:

The Native is my favorite knife. Well, that's not true. The Caly 3 is my favorite and I like it so much I never carry it - as it can't be replaced.

The native is my most carried knife.

I carry an S110V lightweight almost exclusively.

I have an S35VN lightweight. And a second carbon fiber.

I'm definitely getting two of these. And I promise not to dye one orange like I did my PM2.

I thought I would pass on this one, but the linerless natural G10 and my favorite steel have me locked and loaded. Hoping they do a DLC version as well, which would be the first Native with a coated back spacer (which would complete my blacked out fluted CF dream Native).

Yes, this is a blade swap with my older CF S110V model. This one did indeed go flawlessly but some don’t because the lockbar just doesn’t sit evenly sometimes in the new frame (you should ALWAYS swap the blade and its lockbar together, only very occasionally does mixing them work out right). I’ve done quite a few N5 blade swaps, here’s a good thread to check out:

Of all the swaps I’ve done though, that blurple S110V causes the most problems since it seems just a bit different dimension-wise than other N5s (and I have no idea why), some of the liner/scale dimensions are slightly off making scale and blade swaps with that one problematic (I just ended up leaving it stock). Otherwise I’ve swapped blades from lightweights, unlinered and linered versions like a crazy 70s swingers party no problem, in fact the N5 may be my favorite model to do them with since it’s so easy! This will be number 5 for me, black n' red LC200N Never Summer Exclusive, Damasteel 40th Anniversary, Maxamet LW, S90V Fluted CF, and soon to be M4 and 'Natural' G-10 :D The native is a lot like the PM2 in the sense that there are more really nice versions of this knife than I can afford :o There are at least 4 more currently available that I'd pick up.

You gave your KC exclusive away to a friend? You're a good friend.
