I am looking forward to the feed back once it's out. :)
I liked it so much when you and Darrin revealed the original that I bought a custom in 4V from Darrin. Terotuff handle.
I can confirm that is is a great design - ergos are great, cuts great, very functional and NOT overbuilt (read, no unnecessarily thick blade stock or edge). It is lightweight, very comfortable to handle and has pretty much replaced any other large blades in my field bag. I still carry smaller fixed blades and of course folders, but this is my tool of choice when I need a longer blade. btw, if I really need to chop something, I have axes for that :)

Has all the points and feats to be the do it-all, one blade only camping knife.
A beast for the outdoors, with the spyderco quality behind.

Excellent, Ankerson and Spyderco.
Awesome knife!

This knife reminds me of a Hudson Bay pattern (the original large camp knife) blended with a fighter.

A Hudson Bay Bowie.

Very well done. Looks like it will excel at food prep as well as in the field. I will certainly pick one up.

^ Agreed. Looking at the thickness and grind it looks like something I may cook with. I never use my Dogfather for that, I always use a thinner, smaller knife.

Definitely keeping tabs on this one. The steel has me interested too.

Congratulations Jim! The knife looks great, and it's gratifying to see something like this come out of the (literally) tons of cut rope and cardboard. I appreciate the work you've done on steel testing, and the design can't help but benefit from all that hard work. Thanks again, and congrats!

Congratulations Jim, thats the knife I'm the most excited about for 2018, that was a huge surprise to see too.

If it wasn't for you such an amazing steel would have Never been on my radar. Thanks for all you do.

So, is the model name AnkerSand or SandAnker? :)

Sal mentioned a few months ago that they were "in the works" with some full size fixed blades. Good to see this come to fruition. I've a got 2x Serratas and 2x Bradley Bowies. **** I guess I'll have 2x on this bad boy as well.!

This looks like a real cutting beast. A true multi-purpose knife. Looking forward to it's release. Do we have an idea of what the finished specs of the knife will be? Will it be similar to the knife in this thread except 4V? //forum.spyderco.com/viewtopic.php?t=70361 Spyderco's line-up for 2018 is looking better and better. Hope we don't have to wait toooo long for this one.

Anyone else see interest in this in a leather sheath instead of the bolatron norm. This would be a beast of a high rise carry. Leather with double snaps. OMG!
