Worker C01SBK

#1

Post by euphorbioid »

I recently purchased this knife, a Worker C01SBK. It has a titanium carbo-nitride covered stainless steel handle and a black blade. Spydiewiki mentions the handle coating but doesn't specify the blade color/coating, which is G-2. Does anybody know if this is a correct combination of blade and handle? I received it from a source who has been very honest and up-front in multiple dealings.
Thanks,
Jan

If I am reading your post correctly, your Worker has both a black blade and a black handle. If that's true, then there are two possibilities. The first is that it came that way from the factory. If you have a Spyderco box with a printed label that says C01SBK, then that's the case. The other possibility is that the coating was done aftermarket. One Spyderco distributor, John F Jensen, did a lot of that, both in black ti-ni and in gold ti-ni, but there were probably others doing it as well. I've never seen one, either factory or aftermarket with a black blade and bright SS handle, or vise-versa.
