The Random offered in TACTICAL KNIVES, after
a phone call to Cheasapeake Knife & Tool is
STILL availible for the sale price ; as to
print the ad in the May 2004 issue would be
"mis-leading advertising" ( the FTC would get their @$$ for that!!! )

If ya' go with a Boa, the best bet for you
( geograpically speaking ) is Mike @ BestKnives www.BestKnives.com ( he's in Florida ; good prices! )
Or- Josh @ Pioneer Valley / Knifezilla :
www.PVK.com
New Graham's another good choice, he's limited to the stock he has on hand though.

I also have a Chive and I'm very pleased of it. Jur told us quite a story about his Chive, indeed is a special one as it comes directly from Ken Onion. I was also pleasantly surprised by Kershaw's customer service. Some time ago, the spring of my Chive broke off (after a few thousand openings and closings) and I asked Kershaw to send me a spare spring. Not only they sent me a few torsion bars, but they added there a spare pocket clip, just in case. All free of charge. Ken Onion has a personal style and a lot of fine designs.
Has anyone seen the Steven Segal model yet? I think I've recognized Ken's hand there too (despite Steven Segall's signature)

AGREED! Steven Segal's autograph should appear on 8x10 glossies! ( Keep'em off
a knife's blade! ) A factoid : My first
"Onion" was a Chive ; a friend who does
painting now has it.
That CE Random Leek's lookin' better all
the time!

They open fast indeed, but that's not necessarily an advantage.

I had an original Random task at 1 time and it developed lock issues(noticable blade play when locked open) and instead of sending it back to Kershaw I informed the fellow I was swapping with and he took care of it.
I still have a BT coated S60V Avalanche and I like it altho it never see's any carry time.
Quick opener, but in a rush I'd miss that lil stud for sure. Ron
