how to know if I bought a real para 3

I just purchased a para 3 from my only local knife shop. is there anyway to be sure I got what I paid for? it's a para 3, black satin blade, digital Camo pattern. after seeing the videos I'm totally paranoid. which I had no idea of these issues before I paid 140 for the new spyderco.

Is your local knife shop an Authorized Dealer of Spyderco?

I haven't shopped there much in the last several years but I believe they had a sign in the window say they were

after seeing the videos while i was browsing about maintaining the knife I could have had a stroke seeing that.

If they are an Authorized Dealer, you can ask them directly or confirm with Spyderco that they are, and the knife was brand new, not a used/trade in, then I’d say you have nothing to worry about. Para 3 is an extremely popular piece, and there are a lot of members that are owners of this knife, so if you’d like to post some pics, I’m sure they would be more than happy to weigh in with their thoughts.

I haven't seen any reports of counterfeit Para 3s (yet). I think it's likely the knife the OP bought is the real thing.
