I’ve been at this so long that fakes are pretty easy
for me to spot on eBay.

Look for one particular model
variation being listed multiple times at ridiculously
Low prices.

Look for broken English descriptions.

Look for suspicious knives being shipped from California
coastal port areas.

Look for sellers with 100% feedback and feedback
in broken English.

Look for sellers with 100% feedback beginning in 2018.

Do trust sellers from the heartland and beyond with great
feedback that sounds legit and that you can communicate with.

Pay attention to photos that only show one side of blades
With only G10 for example.

Spyderco boxes can be copied and reproduced to look like
originals.

Most fakes are copied from easily replicated knives.
You won’t see many fakes from custom collaboration knives. Click on and magnify details of knife details and look for flaws.

Beware of Spyderco seconds now being sold on eBay. They have a notch ground in the blade.

The gates have been opened to fakes and it takes caution
not to be scammed.

You all probably know all this, just my $.02 worth as I haven’t posted here in a while.

I'll add one more that another Forum member posted on a comment of mine.
Will try to find actual quote but he said Fakes tend to have a ruler in the photo.

I would agree.

Old and discontinued knives and sprint run knives, such as the Endura 3, the Catcherman, or the Calypso Jr., are less likely to be fakes. Current and popular models, such as the Endura 4, Native 5, and stainless Police are more likely.
