I asked a similar question a while back about your favorite comedians, but in retrospect I realise that list can virtually go on forever. What I'm interested here is which comedians whose show you attended and why or why not they were not funny. Let's say, the best and the worse.

The 3 best I've seen

Tom White
Jim Gaffigan
Brad Garrett (only because I punked him)

Ken Davis, only once though as his show's can be quite similar.

I’ll keep it simple. The best, George Carlin

I guess I'm getting to be "old school" at just about everything anymore. Oh well I guess it comes with being 60+ years old  But in my most humble opinion the absolute funniest comedy group were the old "Not Ready Yet For Prime Time Players" on the old "Saturday Night Live" show on NBC and they were on in the mid 70s to early 80s.

I can't tell you how many times I almost busted a gut laughing at those guys and gals on those old Saturday Night Live shows of the past.

And another old school group of comedians I still enjoy watching are the old Marx Brothers>> their movie "Horsefeathers" is really hilarious.

Oh I still love the "3 Stooges" too.

Dave Chapelle, this would have been 2002. I absolutely couldn’t breathe and all of the material felt new.

Lewis Black was pretty good, he had some interesting topical stuff because he went to UNC (he was performing at UMD, both were in the ACC at that time), but much of the rest I had heard before.

I’m not a showgoer, but I did see Eddie Izzard in Boston and he was uproariously funny. Monty Python regard him as one of their own.

BTW, YouTube has his Dress to Kill show. Do yourself a favor and look for it. Nothing quite like Eddie.

I saw Bill Burr in vancouver. His material was hilarious but the vancouver crowd didn’t behave itself unfortunately. Pretty much ruined the show for me.

Me and the wifey saw James Gregory at comedy off broadway in Lexington about 20 years ago. Southern, Georgia I think, guy that wore "sweatpants and Walmart shirts" very thick voice like he was gargling gravy. We were in tears..

He toured all over and I first heard of him on the "Bob and Tom" show.
