SurfGringo and other Water Lovers: Check out this Solar Powered House Boat!
Take a look at this:

That is so great.
What do you all think the positives and negatives of living in such a floating home would be?
From the article:
" Quebec boat building company Daigno has conceived of an original flagship houseboat called Le Koroc. Constructed as a "single-structure laminated timber," the floating tiny home is, as its website says, "a unique and refined craft for Nature lovers and fishing aficionados.""

Would that house boat be proof against a great white shark or salt water crocodile that tried to attack and sink it?

Houseboats and the like are quite common in the U.K.
Many towns and cities have ports, with berths for what are often steam-punk style homes, and before the railways, freight was transported by horse drawn narrow boats on a national network of canals that have been resurrected in the last half century or so for leisure and residential use.

Scary, I remember that movie.

It's now nearly 20 yrs I've been living aboard, full time. Solar power and Wind generator + Towed Water generator when under sail. NO REGRETS.
There are a few Boats around that are Solar and/or Hybrids (diesel generator).
Common to the point that it is no longer deemed to be "strange."
Becoming easier and more manageable plus cheaper as technologies accelerate for the end user.
Nickel Metal Hydride Batteries have made it even more practical due to vastly reduced weight and reduced servicing.
I do have a Container on land, mainly for my Knife Collection...

Yep, all's well at Gt. Barrier Island.
Putting that new Randall #12 9 inch through it's paces on the tracks.
The Cold Steel LTC Kukri is still my favorite slasher though. Darn thing just seems to keep going like the energiser bunny. The Sheath loop is about to crap out, but I'll just sew on another loop after taking apart the Sheath.
Right side up, upside down, left hand, whatever.. the Kraton handle with a pair of Youngstown gloves just does it for me Brother.
Used the serrated edge of my Spyderco Worrier (sic) to cut a 3/4 inch nylon Hawser other day (under tension).
It was like a grenade going off. Hardly touched it..
All the other lines are trembling in the Lazzarete now. Those serrated Spyder Edges are the Bees Knees for ripping through Synthetic line.
Just got back online and am scaring myself silly reading about those Snakes in other thread. Even the thread word scares me..
I'll have another glass of Anti-freeze to calm the nerves !

I was born on the coast and was totally into surfing until I finally was forced off the coast and then forced into a life of climbing. Probably a good thing as I has quite a few close calls with rocks, sharks and mostly drowning. I started in the Carolinas then California/Baja and finally Hawaii. Longboards, shortboards and even the twin/tri fin super shortboards. This is ancient history as these twin and tri fins had just hit the scene and the stuff they have now is space age. I saw the same thing in the years of climbing. Technology is on a roar, hence the Para 3.
Can you find it and can it cut?
