SM ceramic rods. Do they have to dry completely?

When I clean mine I just clean them with Bar Keeper's Friend and hot water, wipe them off with a paper towel, and maybe let them air dry for a few minutes.
Of all the things I've lost I miss my mind the most!

IIRC Cliff Stamp argued that they *should* be used wetted.

They can be used wet or dry, no harm going either route. Used wet they bits of steel you grind off the knife won't build up on the stone quite as fast.
