Where's the RESPECT bowie

#1

Post by Slash »

Impatiently waiting. I know the slogan, all goods things come to those that wait. But, really don't understand. Are you guys holding it back till you get enough preorders for it or what?

Thanks in advance for updates

I think that Sal said they were waiting on the sheaths. I'm sure it will be well worth the wait, I'm excited to see this one drop as well.

Not a fan of the sheath, and I cannot afford to spend that on a knife only to have a custom sheath made.

Show me Respect! I mean, your Respect! :D

Sorry, couldn't let this one pass. But hey, feel free to post pics! It's such a good looking knife, and way out of league for me pricewise. So make me jealous! :)

Being in the CC aint cheap and they probably dont want or need every spyderco produced. Some of them are probably just in the club so they can get every PM2 produced for example.

You would have to be rich to keep every knife.

Also, the way the collector club works is that you pick a dealer to sort of sponsor you. Your collector club knife always goes there first and not to you. I would be willing to bet that most dealers will let you pass on the knife and then move it along to someone else if you don't want it.

There are also multiple dealers who are themselves in the CC so they can just sell the knives, or at least most of them. It gets them one more of the rare and hard to find knives.

Don't see any steel behind the guard, so not what I'd call full, but based on the fasteners, I'd guess ti's nearly full length and probably a "nested almost full" tang.

EDITED TO ADD: Have had one on pre-order since early December of '17. No confirmation yet from the seller, but I just got an email from my bank of a pending charge of exactly the Respect's cost. :)

nope... you have to buy them all and then you can sell them for whatever you want. Keeping every knife is not practical so you take a loss on some, then some sprint runs you can offset the loss.
