Same here! All Golden knives should have Cruwear production versions in both DLC and stonewash in my opinion.

Re: Pros & cons of Cruwear?
Can anyone weigh in on corrossion resistance specifically compared to s30v and D2?
Re: Pros & cons of Cruwear?
It will rust a LOT sooner than s30v. Depending on heat treat D2 should be noticeably more corrosion resistant as well.
Re: Pros & cons of Cruwear?
Wish it was a non Sprint- would love to try one

Cruwear is a superb steel with almost perfect balance of properties. It sharpens like a dream, very good toughness and edge stability, more than decent corrosion resistance. My all time favorite.
Couldn't have said it any better than that.

Re: Pros & cons of Cruwear?
I just picked up a Bark River Little Creek in Cru-Wear to back up my Para3, they make a great team. I had been collecting Para3s but have pretty much settled on Cru-Wear and M390 and have started selling off the rest. Really fantastic steel.

Cool Roland, Millie Ti fluted with cruwear blade, selfmade hybrid?

Re: Pros & cons of Cruwear?
I like Cruwear a lot, but i like REX45 just a little more due to the higher hardness.
Re: Pros & cons of Cruwear?
Finished sharpening mine up this morning. Quite nice!
Re: Pros & cons of Cruwear?
I suspect it will also reduce pocket weight due to imminent poverty due to metal addiction
Re: Pros & cons of Cruwear?

There is a CF/S90V version available right now. It is a work of art.Catamount123 wrote: ↑Wed Jan 23, 2019 4:35 pmCool, I'm looking to get a Shaman sprint or exclusive, and Cruwear/micarta is the only one Sal has let slip so far.

Re: Pros & cons of Cruwear?
But how does cru-wear hold up against maxamet? This is a knife that will get used well beyond opening boxes hehe. It may snag metal, rocks, concrete, nails, bone, and etc.

Re: Pros & cons of Cruwear?
Two totally different steels…
Maxamet is a steel that holds an edge for twice as long, twice as corrosion prone and twice as prone to chipping if it hits concrete.
All steels have three characters
Edge retention
Corrosion resistance
Toughness
Here is a good read
Pay attention to the 3 coloured number after each steel
