Depends on the knife.. Sprints or Exclusives warrant hanging on to the box.

When I decide to keep a knife for good I cerimoniously burn the box.

There is no turning back after that. ;)

Yes, but it's getting annoying because I have a lot. Good for transporting though, and if I die, my wife may be able to sell and figure it out?

I keep boxes for everything. It started in college, I moved 9 times over the course of a few years and got really good at packing things in original boxes for safe moving. If you’ve ever delved into the collector realm, condition is key but original boxes even in poor condition are gold. The thing is, few people kept boxes, so the old ones that survived are a big deal. Since over 90% of us here keep Spyderco boxes, they’ll never be worth anything by themselves; but not having them will ding your value.

I keep some. I never thought much about it... i think the positron is the only one I keep IN the box. The others are either thrown out or piled in a corner of a cabinet. I should probably throw them away.

Yes, all of them as that is how I store them. When buying a used knife if the seller doesn't have the box I usually will pass.

I'll tell you all how long I've been keeping Spyderco boxes>> I've even got 3 of the original Dodo model gray boxes. I've even got the original 1997 dealer's catalog. It's actually some of the more recent stuff I don't have.

I've even got a Poster that advertised the original C-40 Jot Singh Khalsa model ( 1999 era). Am I dating myself :o  ???
