BHQ Manix in M390

#1

Post by Wolfy916 »

BHQ is showing a brown handled Manix in M390 in the coming soon. I haven't heard anything about this knife yet. Anyone know if this is an exclusive anything else about it?

I have been wanting a manix and something in M390 for a while. This one may push me over the edge, I even like the color.

Yeah, first I am hearing of this one. Doesn't mention it being an exclusive or a sprint either, but I am guessing it has to be? Did you see there is both a DLC and a Satin version? And the brown G10 looks almost semi-translucent like the Blurple and Red G10. That would be new and awesome! I think I am going to have to go for the DLC version if that is the case.

The one bummer though is that the liners do not appear to be DLC coated unlike the liners on the DLC M4 Manix and DLC 52100 Manix which are coated and look amazing.

Pretty easy to just look it up.

This must be a sprint or distributor exclusive since BHQ and GPK both list them on their websites.

Weight is listed on BHQ as 5.00 oz, I wonder if this means the liners are not skeletonized like the S110V, M4, and 20CV versions. Or maybe they just don't know yet and copied the specs from the base G10 version.

The description on GPK's site says the liners are coated. I guess we'll just have to wait and see if they're actually coated or not.

The picture on BHQs site doesn't look like the same G10 as the S35VN Paras... however it seems to be a generic mock-up, since the blade has no markings for steel type.

It'll be interesting to see if this one vanishes in less than ten minutes as well, since it's only $10 more than the DLT variant was.

That's because it's a photoshopped picture of the S110V version. They don't have any to take pictures of yet. This is a Motengna distributor exclusive just like the S35VN Para, so the scales should be the same.

It apparently comes in two version, coated and uncoated. The price point is pretty decent, too.

Vivi, yes, an XL would certainly be interesting.

Too bad they didn't do like DLT and give us a date and time of release!

I'd expect it to trickle out at different retailers at different times and rates--which means they can't really give a release time with any precision.

Is it a sprint? Or a distributor exclusive?

Either way, it's really nice to see the Manix finally getting M390/20cv/204p steels. :)

I'm suprised it's taken this long! It's a very popular model, screams for tough steels, as it's a great hard use knife. Can't wait for my 20CV :D

While I really like the M390 family steels, I'd be even more interested in a Manix made with a *seriously tough* steel, so far the 4V, M4, CruWear and 52100 variants are the closest to that category...

Yes, with you here. Cruwear in this DLC/Brown combo would have been amazing. 3V would have been great as well. One day someone will drop this on us. Id take a St Nicks DLC 4V / Red G10 combo as well, but honestly I hope they do a Native and Military in that combo before the Manix.

Like 3v? Or even tougher than that? s7 or something?

I bet you would see a fair demand for an XL in 3v.

CPM CruWear and 3V are very close. An XL in CPM CW would be a dream !
