I have made a few contributions, or at least provided the information on some of the postings. I would hate, really hate to lose this valuable resource.

It had occurred to me several times that perhaps it would be best in the hands of Spyderco and a back up copy kept somewhere else in case (God forbid!) Spyderco went out of business one day. I would even posit that a book is in order.

Absolutely my number one source for Spyderco history other than here. Just nicer cause it’s all categorized. Absolutely in to help however I can.

I will help if needed as well. Hopefully the main authors of the site have everything backed up!! :)

I also really appreciate the effort and time involved to set up and collect the valuable information.
Hopefully Spyderco can help with continuation.

Hey, everyone:
No cause for alarm! We actually have taken over Spydiewiki.com and we're in the process of moving it to our registrar. The original registrar has an odd "hold" of sorts during the process and the unfortunate suspended page is part of their process. You should see Spydiewiki.com back up and running by Wednesday of this week.

We'll be handling the maintenance and new content moving forward. Seems there are a few threads about this (and possibly mention of it elsewhere too) so please feel free to share my update. I'm going to merge the other two threads on this topic as they were all started within a short period of time.

Thanks much!

Kristi

Well, I had suspected the site being down may have been due to it finally moving over to Spyderco (this has been in the works for a while), but didn't want to say anything since an announcement hadn't been made yet.

With Spyderco handling new content from here on out, does this mean an end to user contributions? For instance, I recently got a photo of a Q variant that I hadn't uploaded yet and I suspect that if I don't add it, it likely won't ever be added. I don't mean that as a criticism of Spyderco, just that hunting down obscure old items to update an out of production model isn't going to be high on the priority list for the employee maintaining the page.

Thank you for the update Kristi! The takeover was the reason why I wrote it's nothing for public conversation at that moment.

And I have the same questions as Kyle wrote ... ;)

So there will at least be somewhere for all the photos I have been taking of my Spyderco Pins that it was suggested I upload.

Maybe there will be a place for stickers and other Spyderco goodies too.

I'm sure between us all it will only go ahead in leaps and bounds now.

Thank you of course to all who have contributed up to now. The work has certainly saved me years of scouring my documents catalogues etc.

Great news Kristi!
So happy to hear. I too wonder what will happen to the ability to contribute, but i won't push matters as i am sure we'll find out in due time.

Now the question is, how do we submit new material?

Regarding new SKUs: I suggest Spyderco adds all data for all knives upon decision that they are gonna be produced. :D :D Then the troopers can amend with field feedback later on.
