My Spyderco Military CQI S110V was feeling a little rough upon flicking and closing the knife. So I took the knife apart, and cleaned and polished all of the pivot areas to a mirror finish. I found some old thread lock resting on the brass bushings, and a little dirt preventing a smooth action. So, after cleaning everything up I reassembled with a tiny amount of fresh threadlock 242 and let it dry, after setting proper blade centering without and blade play too.
This is everything I put a mirror finish on;
Both sides of blade area in a small circle, both washers each side, and the liners too! I even put a mirror finish on the detent ball.
Anyone who has not done this, is seriously missing out. This knife is the smoothest thing I’ve ever seen! It is like it floats on oiled glass.

Re: Spyderco Military butter smooth action.
Thanks for sharing ! On a practical note, how do you polish the washers ?
Re: Spyderco Military butter smooth action.
That's the type of hand finishing you can't expect on a production blade.
I do this, and a lot more to mine.

Re: Spyderco Military butter smooth action.
I held my wicked edge strop in one hand, and polished the washer with my index finger pushing it down.
