Request: Rex45 or M4 Manix 2 XL

#1

Post by MrEsco »

Likely stated before. ... But I personally Love the Manix 2XL and have both the s30v and s90v versions. But there aren't nearly enough Sprint runs of this model in my opinion and I would really love to get one of these big blades In a hard use steel like Rex45 or M4, especially in foliage green or grey G10 :) dirty foliage green or grey would look great combined with a nice blade patina, just my opinion anyways. :)

So If the spydie gods see fit, please give me the opportunity to obtain a Rex45 Manix 2XL. 🙏

The only chance I see for an M2 XL in a super steel (at least any time soon) would be if BHQ choses to do it as part of their continuing M4 exclusive series.

I hope to be proven wrong on this as I don't own one yet and would like to have my first be something other than S30V.

I'd be surprised if someone hasn't already snatched the exclusive on rex45 and a certain handle material/color.

This would be awesome! M4 is so much better than s30v, IMO. It's such a pleasure to sharpen and use. Rex45 seems like a real winner as well.

What we really need is for a dealer to have the guts to do an exclusive of the Manix 2 XL in CPM 3V. If they stick to a standard coarse peel ply texture G10 (this is a work knife after all) in a decent color I bet they would sell very well.

I'd be interested to know what sales numbers for the M2 XL are, seems there are enough sold to keep the model active in the lineup, but it looks to be the lowest volume model from Golden...

I keep hoping BHQ will do it. They did the Yojimbo so i think we have a chance.

I would take CPM 4V, Cruwear or K390 as well. Would buy two in any of the 5 steels.

I'd love a sprint manix XL. Frustrating seeing the mini versions of knives get 10x the sprints as ones that fit my grip.

exactly. I have quite large meat hooks and the smaller blades just don't do it for me at all, especially working in construction. I have a military and police 4 and while the length is great, they feel way too slender to me. The Manix 2 XL fits my grip the best, slices wonderfully and I think it would really shine in a hard working steel.

While the s30v survives most tasks well enough that I keep using it, It would just be nice to have one available in a tougher.

I actually forgot about 3v, the edge stability would be really nice on the broad flat 2XL blade. The occasional accidental slip hitting a nail or staple while slicing through insulation and other sliceable building materials dings up the edge pretty good sometimes.

I'd buy multiples. That would be such a killer steel + color combo for the XL. It looks great on the efficient.

BHQ is probably the best chance, and we should put our votes in.

The praise for REX45 makes me hopeful that Golden will continue their lineup with another batch of sprints...

The Manix XL and the Sliverax are the two models I most want to see a sprint on. I've spent way too much money on knives the last couple years. After the 20CV Manix, I won't be buying any more folders for the next year or two unless there is a Manix XL or Sliverax sprint in a steel aside from s90v or s110v :p .
BRING ON THE MANIX XL SPRINTS AND EXCLUSIVES! And 10v or K390ify the Golden lineup, please.

Top 5 folders I’ve owned: Serrated Caribbean Leaf, Shaman, Manix XL, ZDP-189/CF Caly 3.5, Native LW.
Top 5 steels I’ve owned: LC200N, K390, CPM S90V, M390, CPM REX45.
Top 3 steels I want more of: M390 class, A11 class (including K390), CPM REX45.

The Manix XL feels SO GOOD in normal hammer grip, or hammer grip w/thumb ramp. Very good ergos there.

I have a regular s30v XL and 2 in s90v. Yes I've urged this for quite some time for a dealer to do a Sprint run or exclusive in a higher end steel. I'd buy 3 of any version in 4V, Rex45, CTS-204P. I use my XLs as pretty much fixed blades and they never let me down.
Just saying.
