Been a while since I've run a knife with teeth

#1

Post by Fred Sanford »

Man, it's been a while since I've run a knife with teeth, and I forgot how much I like it. I've been carrying this Lil' Native now for a couple weeks and I just keep grabbing it because it's my only small serrated knife.

Knife has broken in nicely and will drop closed on its own now when unlocked. Still no play and perfect lockup. I've had to sharpen it once already but it comes right back with the Sharpmaker. I freehand all of my plain edge knives but for SE I still use a Sharpmaker and a strop with green compound.

Have some pics. ;)

I feel like a Salt version of this would really be nice. Might even dethrone the Dfly for me.

I had this knife in PE and was okay with it but then ended up trading it away for a damascus delica. But the SE version looks more useful. Should have tried that. I really enjoy my serrated native lw.

I read your title as ‘been a while since i’ve run with a knife in my teeth’. I came in to say me too!

Nice pics, tough lookn little knife.

Been a very long time since I have used a serrated blade outside of the kitchen.

I can see using them if one cuts a lot of rope on a daily basis, very hard to match when cutting a lot of rope. :)

Could be the reason why the Salts are serrated for the most part?

Sal thinking for us. :D

I'd say so. And fish! My byrd rescue 2 is a $22 rope annihilator.

I agree. I love the Dragonfly as well but I like this little guy better. I never thought I would.

Thanks Sal. Appreciate it.

:D It had been a while for me as well. I just love how even when the tips get dull the inner scallops are still mad sharp.

Rope annihilator is a great name. :) I've yet to try a Byrd. Maybe I should.

Thanks for the report David.
I like the size and the compression lock. Hoping for another steel.

Good to "see" you my friend. :) It's been a while (for me).

LC200N? M390? What do you have in mind?

:)
