What is 15V good at? This thread has named both Shaman and Chaparral as candidates, which confuses me.

Very high wear resistance.

This isn't a poll? I vote for the backlock Manix. Maybe the Shaman as a runner up, but I would prefer the Shaman in Rex45.

High performance slicing with a long lifetime of slicing ability. Loaded with vanadium carbide.

I'd prefer a longer blade for slicing, but the Shaman has ergos meant for extended use.

If I couldn't get it in a mule team or as was mentioned a temperance, pm2 would be my 3rd choice.

Ok, so the Chaparral doesn't make as much sense because as amazing as that knife is, it's too tiny to put to serious use and CTX-XHP holds an edge just fine.

Please give this to the Native family or a Manix or both.
Idk if I can justify any more members of the military family just for another steel.

Being a tool and die maker, we use CPM-15V in some harsh forming applications. This steel is extremely hard to work with, so I would be interested to see how Spyderco would handle the grinding/machinability of this steel. My guess is it would be as difficult or even more difficult to work with then maxamet. That said I'd love to see it in the Manix lineup.
It's not as difficult to work with as Maxamet and Rex121
So you've worked with both as a knife steel?

Yes, also Rex121 at 70-71rc, s125v at 62-63rc.

Interesting ideas Bodog.

I'd go for the Native 5. Make the handle linerless G-10, dark brown maybe? I'm actually not that picky when it comes to colors.

Or some kind of Micarta would be nice.

Brown Linerless G-10 Native would be cool. Maybe even a semi-translucent brown?! A Native LW counterpart would be appreciated as well. Brown FRN?
