I'm a werido who's always afraid of breaking my stuff... Once I figure how to sharpen, I'll be more comfortable

Damage from abuse always annoys me

I saw a Spyderco knife for sale posted on a website and I noticed a slight scratch. Now, I am sure the scratch did not or would not interfere with normal use of the blade, but, the poster listed it as "New, Mint Condition". Is something in Mint condition if it has a scratch? Perhaps that is best left up to the purchaser?

Depends on the knife. I like most used, but I'll be taking extra good care of my Ti/CF millie when it comes in. I'll never own a safe queen, but tend to baby certain knives that seem worthy of being one. My favorite knives are the ones that can take a beating and laugh it off, although highly refined knives are a close second. The former can have scratches and battle scars, the latter I make an attempt to preserve. But I still don't shy away from everyday use.

I'm lucky that I'm able to attend the Seconds Sale and pick up new steels/blades to really put them through their paces which includes putting different grits/dps/grinds/scale swaps on them while at the same time not worrying if I scratch/drop/wear them. I figure I'll pass the safe queens on to my grand-kids :spyder:

I have both, which is why if I carry I usually have an extra. I've been collecting knives most of my life and it's a hard habit to break. Still have yet to sell one but maybe one day when my wife finds my stash. :(
Can you find it and can it cut?
