Btw Gibson, love your forum picture. Office Space was one of my favorite films, and as I get older... the more I relate to it haha.

I imagine if I had a million dollars I could make something like that happen...

The longer I work in cubicle-land (even though I technically work from home—the work culture is the same) the more I think “If I could do it over, I’d pick skilled trades instead!”

During 2018 I was able to get all of the Spydercos that I wanted, with the exception of the Smock. I sure hope that it gets here soon. My allowance is burning a hole in my pocket.

I’ve been keeping an eye on Kevin’s Instagram. I’m sure he’ll tell us as soon as he knows.

And Sal and gang are surely working to make sure we get the best product. I’m happy to wait, even if I’m overly impatiently waiting. :D

I renamed the thread since 2018 is long gone.

Also, if you check Kevin’s instagram, he’s got an announcement about modding the Spyderco Smock when they’re finally released.

I don't have Instagram, could you elaborate on what kind of modding he's talking about? Interesting he's already discussing mods when we don't even have the knife yet!

He’s going to do custom scales and I believe acid stonewashing.

I don’t have Instagram (or any social media) either. But I do check in on his public posts occasionally.

Scales and stone washing the blade. Its limited to 10 slots for now. The post is a few days old, so I don’t know how many slots he’s got left.

Interesting, when I spotted the IG post yesterday I read it as he was just opening up the books for Mod slots - not directly related to Mod jobs for the upcoming (?) Spyderco Smock. He may very well be fine taking orders for the mod jobs, as it all seems to be for unspecified dates at this point. Knowing he commonly does mods on Southards and other models, that’s how I took his mod books opening back up. Anyhow, the hope of an update or more info come Shot Show seems to be the next milestone of hope.

C240 and "Smock" don't come up on the website...did something really bad happen? I've had one on order for months as well.

BladeHQ just posted an instagram update with Eric Glesser -

First run of the Smock should be shipping this week and a second run should be shipping around May.

Finally some encouraging news! Hopefully be in on the first run, going on 11 months on pre-order. Will be my first new model to me since I bought my Gayle Bradley 2 about 5 months ago!
