Sal and Mattman: thank you so much for the welcome. I’ve been a knife nerd, collector, and user for over a decade now, but this is somehow my first time with a spyderco. I appreciate the community you have built here!

After getting my scales installed, I have one more thought: A lanyard hole would be nice. Maybe this is already an option if you buy direct from Halpern, but I’d like to have a hole already drilled on the scales (of course mules are meant to be semi-DIY, and I should just add one).

You could perhaps implement this by adding a seperate drop down menu when you order, offer the lanyard hole as a $10 or $15 add-on to cover your time and labor, and then set up a jig at a drill press to make lanyard holes for those who want them. At least that’s the stone-age way that I would do it—I’m sure you would have a much more elegant solution.

Otherwise, the scales are great!
