Whats your favorite unusual blade shape?
Hey guys I’ve been looking at some Kukris lately and it got me wondering what your guys’ favorite weird blade shapes are. Also if you have a particular knife you like with that blade shape be sure to put that down below as well.
Just a man with a plan and a knife in hand.
My knives: Para 3 S110V (customized), Para 3 M390, PM2 S110V, Manix 2 CPM 154/S90V, Dice, Rubicon, Vrango, Native 5 CPM 154/S90V, Manbug ZDP-189, Ladybug, Chaparral LW, Kizer Megatherium

Re: Whats your favorite unusual blade shape?
I know this is a little off topic, but for most of my life I thought a big round hole in the blade was unusual. Then I bought a Manix 2 a couple of years ago. 20 Spydies later it is no longer such an unusual blade!
Make time for the important things in life, and learn to enjoy the little things more.
Re: Whats your favorite unusual blade shape?
The reverse S is a very useful blade shape. I loved my stainless cricket before I gifted it. I also love warncliffe blades, like the m4 Yojimbo that has hardly left my pocket since I received it.

How weird?
I like the CRK Insingo shape. I also like the traditional Puuko, which might be viewed as "weird" in the modern context.

Re: Whats your favorite unusual blade shape?
I'm generally a fan of simple blade shapes, like whancliffes and drop points, but I'll admit to craving a kris bladed DA/DE OTF auto. :)

Re: Whats your favorite unusual blade shape?
My favourite unusual blade is also the kukri.
However the most unusual blade that I have, until joining this forum, rather underrated is the blade on the Citizen.
Until I saw the explanation for this serrated semi hook shape I didn't realise how devastating it could be in combat!
Having said that the kukri would be my favourite as a weapon.

I'm a big fan of the spyderco Kris and I wouldn't mind an otf Kris with a DE.The Deacon wrote: ↑Thu Oct 18, 2018 12:37 pmI'm generally a fan of simple blade shapes, like whancliffes and drop points, but I'll admit to craving a kris bladed DA/DE OTF auto. :)
I think as far as edc goes hawkbills are unusual but I carry one daily. Great utility knife for straps and plastic containers.
Re: Whats your favorite unusual blade shape?
The spyker has a weird shape that could either be terrible or amazing to use
Re: Whats your favorite unusual blade shape?
Wharncliffe. Easiest to sharpen, and best blade shape for general utility IMO.
Re: Whats your favorite unusual blade shape?
Team hawkbill for life, a fan of wharncliffes as well.

The Civilian that I just received yesterday :) (reverse S)
Now, the Civilian is not really an EDC knife (until it matters), so for EDC, I'll add my favorite, the Hundred Pacer. Not weird by very unusual (and useful in the kitchen) width of tang compared to the typical trailing point blade.

I've really enjoyed a chopper and previously would have thought it silly. Very useful little boogers.

I think hawks and wharnies are about as weird as I get. I don't mind recurves on large chopper type fixed blades but not so much on folders UNLESS they're fully serrated.

The PPT Perrin's blade is probably my favorite unusual blade. I believe its referred to as a "modified wharncliffe."

Re: Whats your favorite unusual blade shape?
I like an unusual shape if it fits with the overall design. Vrango comes to mind.

Hawkbills, here. They make gardening so much easier.

Re: Whats your favorite unusual blade shape?
Just last night I posted on another forum that a CRK Insingo is now the knife I'm most wanting after ordered a Sage 2 yesterday. A Spyderco Brouwer is on my list, and I suspect that once I get the Sage 2 it may put a Sage 5 on my list.
