Original Aqua Salt Colors?

#1

Post by KnickKnackCity »

Can anyone confirm if the original release of the Aqua Salt included a yellow handle & TiCN coated blade? I've tried searching a couple of times and hit a wall with the Photobucket issue.

The original Aqua Salt was a yellow handle and non-coated H1 blade, I believe.

Originals Aqua Salts were not coated. They came in plain and serrated versions, both available with either a black handle or a yellow one. See 2008 catalog for pics.

Thanks guys. For some reason I could have sworn I had seen a yellow and black one along the way. Maybe it was a mod or maybe just wishful thinking. To me this combo makes a ton of sense. Yellow handle to increase visibility for the human eye. Coated blade to decrease visibility to the fish eye. I recently frankenspydie'd a Salt 2 in this configuration for a buddy of mine who is real big into saltwater fish tanks. Sometimes he needs to cut in the tank so this keeps him from spooking the inhabitants while making it easy if he drops his blade.

It would be great to see this as a standard offering from the factory. Native salt would look great in this setup.
