Yes please to the Dodo, no thanks to the petrified snot scales.

Beggars can’t be choosers Larry. Lol. :D
True that! Eventually my Lum will get snakewood scales (will keep the dreaded originals just in case though.) so it's not like it's a deal breaker, i just wish they'd stop already LOL

Agreed. But another sprint from Spyderco seems less likely than a commissioned exclusive from BladeHQ. And let’s face it, if they’re even considering this (which I don’t know or think they are) it will have to be M4 with jade scales to match the large set of other models they’ve produced.

Have we seen M4 used on a recurve yet? Or on a hawkbill for that matter?

Wasn't this a linerless knife? Bring on the H1/LC200N and make it a full on Salt model.

I figured that would get your attention. Sorry, but this is a thread asking for a BladeHQ Dodo, not a thread announcing it as a reality.

Someone over on blade forums asked about interest in the return of the Dodo. This kind of thread seems to pop up every couple of months or so. One of the commenters suggested that BladeHQ commission a run and I thought that was such a great idea that it deserved its own thread.

So who would be interested in a Jade M4 Dodo? I recognize that there is some fatigue regarding those materials but this would be a great way to see the Dodo return.

I retract my birthday wishes you evil, evil man!!!!

My heart skipped a beat when I read the title...

I'm in the LC200 Salt group for this knife, but I'll take any rendition.

Darn. The title got me going. But I'm glad this isn't to be right now. The ladt of this year's knife money is dedicated to the Brouwer I will purchase next month.

I do want a dodo in any rendition. Or hey, just bring it back on a probationary basis.

That’s an awesome idea too! It deserves its own thread, it’s that good.

Yes, it’s linerless.

SE version would be interesting. I think SE fits the Dodo blade best.

I’d be interested in any reincarnation. I’d rather see one in a stainless, but M4 would be fine too. I’d love a blue M390 Dodo, or a green 204P Dodo.

i got to hold one of these once and i’ll be darned... it made sense to me right away. what a crazy little blade. it was already discontinued at the time, but i’d be interested in one. i’m still hoping the yojimbo gets a dlc run first though.

The original 2003 era Spyderedged "DODO" model was the very best small bladed, full Spyderedged model I've used up to this point in time. It's absolutely imperative that we must see the return of the Spyderedged DODO model at some point. Actually I don't want to see another Sprint Run of the DODO until they give us another full Spyderedged version.

To me it just doesn't make any sense when the Spyderedge is one of the big hallmarks of the GREAT SPYDER FACTORY that they seem to have forgot what got them to this level of fame. And I mean that with all due respect>> But Mr. Glesser when are we going to have some top notch Spyderedged Sprint Runs????

Actually I'll go one further than that>> I believe that the DODO in PE & SE both should be back in the main line up IMO.

I have a SE DF2 hawksbill H1 thanks to the kind generosity of two members. My first SE & H1 & hawkbill. The SE is astoundingly sharp. Rips through most anything but it lacks the ability to make precise cuts. I suspect this would be true of the non-hawkbill versions too.

I suppose carrying this and a good PE blade together would cover most all contingencies but so far I haven’t encountered anything that a sharp PE blade won’t handle. Other people’s requirements will be different of course.
