So wait you were supposed to get a Para 3 and got a Military instead?
It was a blind box essentially.

"Sixty percent of those who join are guaranteed to receive a Spyderco Para 3 with a G-10 Handle, but nearly half of you will be lucky winners of an upgrade. Upgrades will be assigned to orders by means of a random number generator in the following proportions:

60%: Spyderco C223GP Para 3 G-10 Black ($199.95 Retail value)
20%: Spyderco C223GPDBL Para 3 Dark Blue G-10 w/ S110V ($244.95)
10%: Spyderco C36GPE or C36GPCMO Military w/ black/digi G-10 Handle ($267.95 retail value)
9%: Spyderco C36GPBK Military w/ G-10 Handle and Black Blade ($287.95 retail value)
1%: Spyderco C36GPDBL Military Dark Blue G-10 w/ S110V ($294.95 retail value)

Ah gotcha. I've never done the Mass Drop thing.

Mass drop does “blue box specials” where 90% of people will get the base knife (PM2), 9% of people will get some upgrade (s110v pm2), and like 5 people will get some very high value (ti Millie). I’ve seen it where the options are all similar sizes (various natives) but this one is a bit more awkward.

It's kind of a fun idea but the pessimist in me wonders if they ever actually sell those high end models or if it's all BS and they're offloading the cheaper models. Has anyone actually come forward with getting one of the good ones? It's a fun idea if I knew I'd be happy with any of the options.

Yeah folk obsess over parcel weights and take photos of what they get- as is seen here I got s mili for the price of a para 3.
With the native I got the basic one (in the wrong steel) but also got a free sharp maker

When Massdrop has a “blue box” you pay for an item, but a small number of folks get an “upgrade”. Kind of like a raffle but you get at least something worth what you pay in. I got a Native 5 with G 10 instead of FRN that way recently. I wish I’d gotten a blacked out Military instead.

Interesting concept. I think I'd rather know what I'm paying for is what I'm getting. I'm also not much of a gambler haha. Sure would be cool to be surprised with a high value knife, if you don't want it you could always sell or make a trade.

I put it up on eBay and the local classifieds-
I have had one person felt I was asking too much and you can get them for $xxx on eBay-
I then proceeded to explain that the military and the paramilitary 2 are not the same and now he won’t talk to me.
Selling stuff online, what a pain...real talk gang, Last year I sold a million dollar house where the buyer asked me less questions.

The Millie definitely gets smaller as you carry it. However, for NKF (non knife folks) it will be a sword everytime they see it.
If I'd opened a Millie in my office folks would have branded me an ax murderer. Anything with a blade over 3" would open eyes wide. When I opened my Caly 3.5 it got strange looks. Like how much blade could be in a compact knife? The orange Delica and Chaparral seemed to meet with "approval" :)

I EDC'd a Police 3 at my last office job. Used it every lunch to cut up an apple.
