Poll: Next round of Rex45 Sprints?
Rex45 is so hot right now. It sells out in minutes, and I haven't seen one negative review on the steel. Seems like another round of sprints is in order for some of the Golden models that don't get the love that the Para 3 and PM2 get. Pick the two models you would like to see next. Hopefully we will see some more Rex45 soon! :D
As an aside, I will say that I would love to see some DLC Rex45 with that burnt orange G10.

Am I the only one here that thinks carbon steel fixed blades make more sense than folders?

You may be Vivi. If there were 1,200 each made of the PM2 and Para 3 and they literally haven't been in stock for more than 30 minutes at a time (30 seconds in some cases), there seems to be a pretty big demand for them. Where you have the M390 Para 3 at BBS which has been around for months, and the CTS-204P Military took forever to sell. Then you also have all of the M4 exclusives from BHQ that sell out sometimes in a matter of minutes. And then of course you have the CRUWEAR NATION! :)

I guess I am the only one that prefers carbon fixed, stainproof/less folders these days, lol.

I like em both. I have plenty of Salts and plan on getting the Native Salts. H1 is one of my favorite steels in both PE and SE and I am excited to try LC200N and hopefully Vanax soon. I don't think most people sweat battery acid like you so it isn't as much of a concern...lol

But carbon steel fixed blades have always been popular. Wonder why Spyderco so rarely runs em in carbon steels.

Maybe it is too hard to be competitive on price with all of the great carbon steel fixed blades that are already out there. Its a saturated market right now. So much great stuff out there in the fixed blade market from a million different makers, but try finding another folder that can compete with the awesome G10 and FRN models with the trademarked Spydiehole. Probably why you dont see many flippers and autos either. Hard markets to penetrate with the stuff that is already out there. Just my two cents.

The Manix 2 lockback in Rex 45 would force me to buy another knife for sure.

I would like that too.Tucson Tom wrote: ↑Thu Sep 13, 2018 10:09 pmI am just itching and scratching for Spyderco to make some kind of fixed blade with 52100.

Oh, I voted for the Native and Native LW by the way. Didn't specify in my original post. But I certainly wouldn't turn down a Manix XL, Manix Backlock, or Shaman as I don't have any of those models yet because I am waiting for sprint in a steel like Rex or Cruwear.

Re: Poll: Next round of Rex45 Sprints?
Voted for the two Native 5 options (duh! :D) because I just want the blade steel. The blade may or may not stay in that frame for long anyway.
That said, I’m really interested to try the new Manix backlock out since I also held out on that one for something more fun than black G10 and S30V. I really like the old school Manix and mini Manix backlocks (have fun Googling that newbies!) and a Rex45 Manix 1 backlock sprint (meaning the larger Manix XL predecessor like the one they ran the foliage green sprint of) would be GARGANTUAN!! :) With the old school Dino jimping, that would be phenomenal!

+1! I dont think the foliage green one even had the dino jimping, but I also would love to see a sprint of the original C95 Manix with the dino jimping! it would be very impressive indeed! Rex45, Cruwear, or 4V would all be incredible in that model!

Re: Poll: Next round of Rex45 Sprints?
It's unlikely, I admit, but stranger things have come to pass in Spydieland.
I'd be stoked to see the Lefty Millie included in the Rex 45 run of Para-family, Golden made knives. I'd be over the moon, in fact, to see the Lefty Millie included in any future sprint run steels.
Yeah, it's never going to be a top selling model, but I think it would sell better than the S30V versions. As well as actual leftys, it would appeal to the hard core MBC and SD handgun type users who want a knife deployable from their non-dominant side and hand.
