I received my Para 3 from KC a few minutes ago. I'd say it's every bit as nice as the PM2. The factory edge is very sharp, blade's centered, action's good, G10's grippy, etc.

The one thing I've noticed on Para 3 and the PM2 is the very tips appear to be bent a tiny bit. It turns out that the edge grind toward the tip is a little higher on the show side making the tip appear to be bent toward the clip side when viewed from the top. No big deal. They'll both be corrected at some point.

Do you have any pictures? I'm out in a cabin by the woods and mine got delivered today also. I won't be back home until Monday night though lol. I'm kinda jonesing for those orange scales.
We're out now so it'll have to be later. I have a blue M390 Para 3 on me now. You could imagine it's burnt orange. ☺
Lol great minds think alike! I also have the M390 on me but I carry 2 knives so the DLC M4 is in another pocket.

Haha! Yep! Lived most of my life in the NW Chicago suburbs. I'll never be a Brewers fan but I've been to County Stadium a few times over the years. Nice ballpark!

Are any more of these going to be released or are they all gone?

I tell myself if they make the playoffs this year that ill make the 11 hour drive, or fly...hopefully by division and not wild card! (Not counting on that though, Cubs are strong and still not firing on all cylinders)

I would think so but I thought the same about the PM2 and we haven't seen many more of those yet. Keep your eyes peeled! Hopefully another wave will hit the dealers.

Both models are selling out extremely fast, would be silly to cut them off already!

I would guess that there were X number made then distributed among the dealers and distributors according to Spyderco's agreements. I also suspect that no one anticipated the crazy demand for this knife (Para Military 2 and the Para 3). It would make sense that Spyderco would make another production run of each.

I don't recall many sprint runs coming in multiple production batches... That kind of defeats the purpose of a "sprint run". It is highly likely though that distributors are still sending out batches and/or retailers are holding back some. It certainly doesn't help that sellers like BBS get their share and charge full MSRP plus overpriced shipping.

Edit: It looks like BBS is actually charging $75 over MSRP on this one. Congratulations to them for being the most shameful knife dealer around.

It's a sprint run. They typically make 1200 of each model and that's it. If I had to guess I'd say they ran some of each through QC and then released what they had. Hopefully there's more to come.

I recall the Cru-Wear PM2 and Para 3 sprints coming in fitful batches as the total unit count for each run was manufactured. I'd bet each dealer got a half-dozen or so in the first shipment, and the rest of the run is probably in QC or on its way to dealers right now.

Yeah, but they'll still have 'em in three years ;)
