Agreed this color scheme is not to my taste. As mentioned, the G10 burl/swirl in a different color combo and a satin blade could be the ticket.

Plus I'm only lukewarm on the Manix to begin with.

Three things that made me think twice about this version: first, the scale color pattern and color scheme doesn’t look very good to me; second, the liners are solid and not skeletonized; third, I’m holding out for the CS exclusive orange lightweight version with the same blade.

Meanwhile... I'm over here scheming how/what I'll need to offload to get this one

I actually like the looks of this knife. I cannot get it right now because I just spent my knife budget on the CS Orange M2. Still, this one is unusual and I like the earth tone colors.

Once you get used to a Manix 2 with skeletonized liners it's hard to go back to solid. It makes a big difference with the balance and weight.

As much as I like the Manix I'm not interested in that burled version at all. It looks like a chocolate dessert. Don't get me wrong, I love chocolate desserts but I don't want a knife that looks like one. ☺

Wonder why the liners aren't skeletonized. That's really weird.

I like the Manix a lot. But find the non-LW is a bit heavy for the size (for me). This one isn't skeletonized, making it even heavier for no real benefit. I don't mind the burl or DLC, though I don't really love them either. While there's nothing at all wrong with S90v either, it's a steel I already have.

I'll go against the grain and say I really like it. Manix 2 is my main EDC and I have way too many of them, but I may have to pick up one of these as well.

Looks like a really nice knife. I like the combination of DLC blade and the burled G-10. Unfortunately I'm saving up for another upcoming sprint, so I'll have to pass on this one.

Darby, just don't drop it in your bowl of ice cream, or you'll never find it again...:D

The scales are cool as far as I'm concerned, but as with some others here, I just don't go for the black blade/hardware look. I'm also a bit baffled by the reversion to solid liners, both versions are perfectly functional knives, but I like the skeletonized G10 Manix 2 better since they aren't as much of a brick in the pocket.

I never really thought about the handle in the ways you guys have illustrated, but found it all pretty funny.

Also didn't realize it was full stainless liners, I currently own the lightweight s110v manix 2 so it will be interesting to compare the two.

I do own the Shaman, which some have referred to the brick and to my pleasant surprise it fit very comfortably in my pocket.

Here is the photo from River Edge Cutlery's Facebook, I think it is attractive and definitely different than what we have seen before.

Spyderco keeps coming out with exclusives an sprints of the standard M2 with the CBBL. What I want is more back lock models. That would make it more interesting for me.

While I concur with the desire for more backlock action, that would not change my disdain for the water treatment scales.
Seriously though, where are the backlock Manix variants?

I like the Manix, but that thing's hideous. Hard pass...
