The %15 off coupon on Ebay hooked me for two...the Camo PM2 with the black s30v for under $120 and the must have all black Endura 4 for under $80! I knew I would eventually have to buy them...so the %15 came in handy. Snagged an orange Rex 45 para 3 for my best friend for Christmas...should be plenty of time to teach him about the knife and that it's not a beater. I saw a video of the 52100 PM2 with CF scales, the computer auto bought that one while I went to grab a cup of coffee. Smooth G-10 scales with Cruwear?!!?! that PM2 took all of 15 seconds to enter the debit card info for.

But I think I got it under control now. I just have to figure out a way to avoid Cutlery Shoppe when they come out with the sprint run Manix 2 in a few months.

the last time I went product crazy, it was with the SIG brand of handguns...that was an expensive two years for sure.

Probably not a discussion for the Spyderco forum, except to say that there's plenty of sprints and exclusives to experience the thrill of the chase for a very long time!

In retail, it doesn't.

Money that is tied up in slow-moving inventory is not what you want.

I'd rather make 10 percent profit on an item that sells out in hours than 20 on an item that sells out in weeks or months.

In the first scenario, a 100 dollars invested gives 10 dollars profit in hours, and you have 110 to reinvest almost immediately. In the second scenario, sure, you make an extra 10 dollars in the end, but miss numerous potential reinvestment opportunities (if any are lined up). You make far less when your money is stagnant. That's why clearance sales happen, to get back some of that stagnant investment money.

How St. Nick's views the situation is all that matters, and I don't presume to know what their margins are. It is what it is. In fact, I wish that they would have sold out quickly. As others have mentioned, we should appreciate it when dealers of brands that we like are rewarded for taking risks. That's how you get other really cool stuff.

While I'm not fond of the price, and was a little miffed at them yanking the coupon for this item after sending out the email, after consideration and noting the opinions of others here, I decided to support their cause in the hope that they'll come out with more cool stuff. I'll overpay for a PM2, etc., because I'm fond of the design, but normally I won't overpay (a subjective opinion, admittedly) for a Delica. I purchased the Delica as an investment in the hopes of future offerings.

It's not like I threw away money. I did get a really unique knife at the end of the day.

Do you think that we'll see these on the secondary market in a couple of years for a good sum of money? It's human nature. It's too expensive while it's available, but worth it's weight in gold when they're all gone.

I definitely think this will go for a good price in a few years. It was a very small batch, the colors are awesome, the coated Hap40 blade is unique and a premium highly desirable steel, and it may be the last G10 Delica ever made. I doubt you will see them come up for sale that often once they sell out, and if they do the price would continue to rise slowly over the years I believe. I think it is a worthy investment "safe queen" for sure. I have a user and a "safe queen" of this one myself. :)

I came home from a camping trip to find this beauty in my mailbox from St. Nicks. First off, I just wanted to comment that St. Nick's took great care to package the knife well before shipping it out...as we all know, not all companies do that. My Delica showed up in mint condition, perfectly centered, and sharp enough for me.

I think what has happened is that we have had an awesome flood of "must have" para 3s and Paramilitary 2s all hit the market in a very short time period. This knife is worth every penny I spent on it. The red G-10 is soo beautiful with the black blade...I really can't stress enough what a good looking knife this is in person...pictures just don't do it until you have it in had.

I think a few months are going to go by and this knife is going to sell out. People are going want it, and want it badly. The secondary market is going to sell these for well over $300 a piece. I know I would not part with mine if someone offered me $300 for it...if I couldn't just buy another for $180.
