Anyone down to crowd fund some hardness testing? There is a Metallugical lab down the street that quoted $80.
I don't mind the divots on the blade above the edge since I'm going to regrind it thinner later.

We're checking. Hard to do on laminates.

The conversation has moved on from V -toku 2 But I'm still impressed with the performance and ease of sharpening with these. I'm glad I bought an extra Endura. I can do anything from a regular edge at fairly low angles to a thin convex and it doesn't complain. It's not meant to be a 10V or Maxamet but for high sharpness EDC use it does really well. I like the low to medium carbide steels for much of my use and I appreciate not having to fight to get steels sharp. Oh, my guess is 60-61 ish but that is only a WAG.

Two models yet to be released for this sprint and it's already old news ?! I know most everyone here has moved on to whatever new super steel out-does-them-all; I'm just showing some interest on this topic :D

This is the type of steel I prefer. I've been enjoying my delica in it. Still like hap40 more but this is good stuff. Getting my 52100 manix tomorrow and I look forward to comparing it to this.
