Spyderco Rhino Grande please!!

#1

Post by Candyman »

So there’s a good chance I’ll never get a Custom from Michael :D so my hope lies within you Spyderco. I’d love to see the Grande turn into a production knife. I think after seeing many posts on multiple forums there is a desire for a larger Rhino just as there is a desire now for the current Rhino. Anyone else?

I would like that too. The Chinook 4 would be a comparable knife, I've been looking at it since I bought the Rhino. I want to try out the Power Lock.

I wouldn't mind a bigger one, I think it's not as simple as making it bigger though. You'd need to redesign it for a four finger grip, and move things around a little. I'd be interested.

The Rhino Grande is actually an existing Reinhold design. It's pretty nice looking. A little more blade before you get to the belly, and a frame lock (for now, anyway). I want one.

Oh, man. Now you made me go look at Michael's web site. Those customs are sweet. I might have to break down and buy one.

I'd like a Rhyno XL. The design is really neat but I don't find knives so small as practical as 3.5-4" blades.

I'm in, unless it's a frame lock. Backlock or compression and you can have my dollars.

This thought has crossed my mind as well. As far as the specs go in regards to blade length and lock type, I'd personally be happy to see them hold true to Mr. Reinhold's Rhino Grande specifications (3"/Frame Lock).

BTW, I'm totally impressed with the current Spyderco rendition! The overall aesthetics and ergos are stellar!

A pic of the Grande from Mr. Rheinhold's site. Great looking blade but if Spyderco does the grande, I hope they do away with the bolster and use a solid CF/Laminte for the scales.

Hah, that might be my next purchase. Checks a lot of boxes for me, and I'd like to try the Powerlock.

I’d love it exactly like this but with some Arizona Ironwood scales.

I don't know if all of you realised, that Rhino Grande = Big Rhino = Rhino XL, as "Grande" means "Big" in Spanish :p
